About Orita

Orita builds AI customer segments for many of the best brands in the world including (deep breath) Spanx, ThirdLove, True Classic, Tracksmith, Harney & Sons, Sun Bum, Ministry of Supply, Thursday Boots, gorjana, and hundreds more.

Orita’s algorithms help brands understand who wants to hear from them, when, and through what channel (email, SMS, direct mail today, more coming soon …). By messaging prospects and customers when they’re actually listening, you’re able to make a bunch of money.

In a world where acquisition costs are skyrocketing, fixing retention and driving LTV is the key to profitable growth.

For marketers or business owners passionate about their customers and messaging, it can be tough to let go and trust something as personal as their customer list to a bunch of algorithms and machines. Luckily at Orita, it’s our goal to make sure our customers know we have their backs, and go above and beyond to earn their trust.

And so many brands are fortunate to have A+ agency partners who will do strategy and execution across multiple channels, including email, SMS, direct mail, and paid media / performance marketing.

That’s where you come in. Your forte is building relationships and fostering trust. You love being proactive and putting customers first. You’re the type of person who remembers everyone’s name at a dinner party as soon as you meet them. You move fast, carefully, and own your work. And you’re exceptional at understanding how to help brands win, and how agencies, leveraging the right technology, can accelerate that.

Orita partners very closely with agencies - over 80 right now, and growing. Their job is to build world-class strategy and creative for brands. Our job is to build world-class segments. The shared goal is to delight the end consumer, and in turn WOW the brand.

As our Senior Partner Manager, focused on Agencies, you will:

  • Manage a book of business of multiple agency portfolios, coordinating across agencies and our shared brand clients to deliver exceptional results. You’ll drive pipeline from these agencies, but not by being a gimme cub (this, of course, is a Berenstain Bear’s reference) but by helping agencies find so much value in Orita that they introduce customers to us.

  • Directly close sales opportunities with agencies. They - and their customers - should trust you so much that you don’t need to hand off deals to a sales person.

  • Scale agency enablement. We have a few hundred customers right now, the key to getting to a few thousand is better serving our agencies, embedding their feedback into our product and processes, and making them (very happy) super-users of Orita

  • Enable our agencies to be super-users of Orita, so that they know how to increase their customer ROI and Love when they leverage Orita

  • Work closely with our Customer Success and Sales organizations to ensure customer experiences and transitions are seamless

  • Act as a strategic advisor to partners looking to improve or optimize their marketing channels through email, SMS, and Direct Mail campaigns

  • Become a product expert, and work closely with our product teams to create feedback loops from agencies (And their clients) that impact product roadmap

  • Create and carry-out Quarterly Business Reviews for agencies, sharing progress, collecting feedback and identifying gaps.

  • Actively participate in the inevitable iterations, re-dos, collateral updates, and experiments surrounding how we serve our agencies and customers, whatever it may be (we’re a startup, our goals will change, get excited).

  • Iterate, iterate, iterate!

Tl;dr, you’re WOW’ing our agencies and shared customers, making Orita part of their “default tech stack”

About You

Please apply even if you don’t meet every requirement!

  • You’ve managed partnerships with eCommerce (ecommerce?) retention agencies or have worked at a retention marketing agency, and understand everything from strategy to execution within the Klaviyo platform

  • You’re a builder, and have experience operationalizing work. You’ve owned new initiatives and helped your business build in a more efficient and effective way

  • At least 3 years of partner management experience

  • Direct experience managing a book of business. You have met or exceeded quota and additional performance metrics.

  • You have strong organization skills, and the proven ability to manage a high volume of partners.

  • Events and dinners are fun, not a chore

  • You’re comfortable navigating ambiguity. You know where we need to go, but recognize it won’t always be a straight path to get there.

  • You have an analytical mindset. You’ll manipulate and analyze data to clearly identify performance, where we are succeeding, and what red flags we need to resolve.

  • You have experience collaborating cross-functionally with business partners. You work well with others to drive initiatives forward.

  • You have experience in a sales role.

  • You learn fast

  • You live in New York City or are very excited to get there, regularly and live a drive or train ride away.

Bonus points for experience in the following:

  • Martech experience

  • Paid media experience

  • Experience operating at a startup-level organization, with the ability and willingness to quickly pivot and expand on opportunities as they arise.

  • Experience with other email, SMS and direct mail platforms outside of Klaviyo too

Where you’ll work: Candidates must live in the U.S. or Canada. The role is mainly remote, though ideally you’re based in NYC or the greater New York area, as you’ll likely carry an East Coast and EU book of Klaviyo partners to start. Please feel free to apply even if that isn’t your current locale. Just know that our entire team is expected to come together at least a few times per year.

Interview Process:

Subject to change, but we’ll try to be very efficient

  1. Questionnaire via email

  2. Screening interview with Co-CEO.

  3. Interview with 2 different teammates (ideally in a single meeting)

  4. Final round with Co-CEO and likely 1 other special guest

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
