Job Overview

The Senior Manufacturing Engineer will primarily be focused on helping drive New Product Introduction (NPI) efforts, as well as creating and implementing process improvements and strategies to optimize manufacturing efficiency. They will also be working together with the technician workforce to provide production floor support, as well as being a cross-functional resource to liaise between operations and other engineering teams to ensure communication and compliance across all facets of manufacturing.

Responsibilities and Duties:

· Champion Device NPI projects from concept to production, ensuring the Manufacturing team is set up for successful ramp-up.

· Collaborate with engineering teams to optimize new product design for component manufacturability, assembly, and test.

· Ensure new product rollout risks are identified, escalated, and mitigated through manufacturing process control and end-of-line testing.

· Drive collaborative efforts with the Operations teams to ensure product release meets cross-functional requirements such as BOM structuring, component procurement strategies, etc.

· Assess process flow and implement Lean / Six Sigma.

· Curate work instructions and training to increase build efficiency and quality.

· Create fixturing/tooling to support increasing production to scale with demand.

· Assist Junior-level Engineers in sustaining and continuous improvement efforts for projects focused on manufacturing and manufacturability.

· Work with Quality to decrease NCMR and other CAPA-related issues.

· Report on KPI, OKR, and other monthly metrics for management.

· Support cost reduction initiatives by investigating material costs, manufacturing and machining processes, and being conscious of lead time and quality impact.

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering.

· 8+ years of experience working with electromechanical assemblies.

· Experience as a major stakeholder supporting new product launches from concept to production, experience in life science automation is a plus.

· SolidWorks 2023 or similar CAD program knowledge base.

· Expertise in Microsoft Office suite of programs.

· Possess strong verbal and written communication and presentation skills.

· Ability to work in a fast-paced, dynamic working environment, while being involved in multiple projects at a time.

· Deep understanding of Lean Manufacturing / Six Sigma

· Electrical knowledge and troubleshooting, such as the ability to clearly understand and interpret schematics.

· Exposure to GD&T best practices.

· DFX/DFMA mindset to support ongoing Sustaining/CIP and NPI projects.

· Experience using ERP/PLM software, Dynamics 365/Bluestar PLM experience is a plus.

· Ability to analyze problems, identify root causes, and implement solutions.

· Role is onsite full-time with the potential for up to 10% travel locally or internationally.
