About this role:

This role will have primary accountability for maintaining and operating Syndica’s blockchain infrastructure platform. You’ll play a crucial role in shaping the future of our IT strategy.

A successful candidate must have previous work in SaaS application development and operations. The Senior Network Engineer will work closely with management to build and improve the reliability, security, and effectiveness of the Network and IT services.


Responsibilities

  • Create robust and scalable network designs that align with organizational goals. Implement these designs from the ground up, ensuring they meet specified requirements and standards.

  • Continuously track metrics to gauge network performance. Be proactive in identifying any bottlenecks or performance issues and take corrective action as needed.

  • Act as the first line of defense against network disruptions and anomalies. Diagnose and resolve issues swiftly to ensure minimal impact on operations.

  • Stay ahead of the tech curve by keeping our hardware and software updated. Ensure all components are operating at their peak for maximum network performance.

  • Be an active participant in deep technical discussions.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of hands-on network engineering experience, particularly focusing on network technologies is required. An in-depth understanding of network operations is essential to be successful in this role.

  • Experience working in high-performance and large-scale network engineering environments.

  • Profound knowledge of networking protocols such as TCP/IP, along with routing and switching is necessary.

  • Experience working with BGP protocol and complex network routing.

  • Experience automating repetitive tasks and troubleshooting issues.

  • Experience with network monitoring, diagnostic, and analysis tools.

  • Experience writing network configuration and design documentation.

Standout experience

  • Standout candidates will accurately create and maintain documentation detailing the implemented network components, as well as relevant procedures and other documentation.

  • Experience working with automation frameworks such as Terraform.

What does success in this role look like?

  • In three months, you have built a network system and established best practices.

  • In six months, you have become the go-to person for network reliability and monitoring.

  • In twelve months, you have established a cadence of on-time delivery and system uptime.
