Amex GBT is a place where colleagues find inspiration in travel as a force for good and – through their work – can make an impact on our industry. We’re here to help our colleagues achieve success and offer an inclusive and collaborative culture where your voice is valued.

This role serves as the dedicated lead and single point of contact for one of our highest visibility executive programs, blending strategic project leadership, executive stakeholder engagement, and hands on event delivery. The successful candidate thrives in a fast paced environment, moves fluidly between strategy and execution, and is comfortable owning complex programs from concept through onsite delivery. Beyond the flagship program, this is a multifaceted leadership role supporting strategic client initiatives, operational improvements, and additional executive level meetings and events across the Experience Studio. We are looking for strong fundamentals and a clear trajectory, not a perfect checklist, and we encourage candidates ready to grow into the full responsibilities of the position to apply.

What You'll Do
  • Serve as the dedicated lead and single point of contact for a premier executive program, owning all aspects of planning and delivery from concept through onsite execution.
  • Lead end to end project management, developing detailed workback schedules, project plans, milestones, communication plans, and risk mitigation strategies for complex, multi stakeholder initiatives.
  • Own budget development, forecasting, tracking, reconciliation, and financial reporting across assigned programs and events.
  • Lead strategic sourcing and supplier management, evaluating venues, hotels, destinations, and partners and negotiating contracts that balance client objectives, experience quality, and financial performance.
  • Lead registration strategy and attendee management, ensuring a seamless executive experience from invitation through post event follow up.
  • Manage all event logistics including venue operations, rooming, transportation, production, food and beverage, executive services, gifting, and staffing, and direct onsite operations as the primary logistics lead, resolving issues in real time.
  • Serve as a senior point of contact for designated strategic enterprise client accounts, leading proposal development, contract negotiations, and year end event consultation to support retention and partnership growth.
  • Lead cross functional collaboration across internal teams, clients, and suppliers, positively influencing project teams through mentorship, knowledge sharing, and operational leadership.
  • Champion operational excellence and process improvement, designing workflows, standard operating procedures, templates, and playbooks that scale across the Experience Studio.
  • Apply reporting and data analytics to measure program performance, surface insights, and inform operational and client decisions.
What We’re Looking For
  • Proven ability to manage complex executive meetings and events in fast paced, deadline driven environments while maintaining exceptional quality and attention to detail.
  • Strong foundation in event operations and program delivery, including meetings and events management, hospitality, food and beverage, event production, and experiential program design.
  • Demonstrated expertise in budget management, sourcing, and financial operations, including contract negotiations, supplier management, registration platforms, and financial reconciliation.
  • Exceptional project management and organizational skills with the ability to lead multiple initiatives simultaneously, balance competing priorities, and meet aggressive deadlines.
  • Outstanding communication and relationship building skills, with credibility to engage senior executives, clients, internal partners, and suppliers, and a track record of trusted partnerships at every level.
  • Demonstrated influence and collaboration skills with the ability to build consensus and drive alignment across cross functional teams without formal authority.
  • Growth mindset and solutions oriented approach, with a passion for delivering exceptional experiences, continuous improvement, and expanding capabilities into broader organizational initiatives.
  • Willingness to travel and work onsite at events as needed.
  • Experience supporting high visibility executive programs such as leadership meetings, Client Advisory Boards, conferences, incentive programs, or multi market initiatives (preferred).
  • Background in premium hospitality and food and beverage experiences, including menu planning, catering coordination, and delivery of elevated attendee experiences (preferred).

What you need to know about the Boston Tech Scene

Boston is a powerhouse for technology innovation thanks to world-class research universities like MIT and Harvard and a robust pipeline of venture capital investment. Host to the first telephone call and one of the first general-purpose computers ever put into use, Boston is now a hub for biotechnology, robotics and artificial intelligence — though it’s also home to several B2B software giants. So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
