Summary:  

The Sr Mechanical Sustaining Engineer will focus on reliability improvements and cost reduction opportunities for Covaris Focused-ultrasonicator product lines and accessories.  The individual should have 5+ years of Sustaining Engineering experience and manufacturing support of complex electromechanical systems within an ISO or FDA regulated organization. 

 

Essential Responsibilities: The employee may be required to perform all or a combination of the following essential responsibilities as determined by business necessity. 

 

  • Apply Design for Excellence (DFx) principles to enhance product reliability, and cost-effectiveness 

  • Demonstrates a strong motivation to achieve goals and exceed expectations 

  • Works both independently and collaboratively to drive a project through to completion 

  • Working knowledge of GD&T to produce dimensional drawings and CAD files within SolidWorks 

  • Perform robust root cause analysis including report writing 

  • Author Change Orders within an eQMS 

  • Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing 

 

Non-Essential Responsibilities:  In addition to the essential responsibilities listed above, the employee may be required to perform other non-essential functionsEmployees are required to follow any other job-related instructions and to perform any other job-related duties requested by their supervisor. 

 

Qualifications:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering 

  • 5+ years of mechanical design or sustaining engineering experience in a regulated industry; medical device experience is helpful 

Desired Qualifications:  

  • Experience utilizing SolidWorks and PDM for design 

  • Knowledge of QSR and ISO regulations is a plus 

  • Good written and oral communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization 

  • Works well in a team, proactive, thrives in fast moving environment
