Senior Mechanical Engineer

Mechanical Engineering leads and delivers the development of innovative solutions, interfacing with cross-functional teams for server systems, peripherals and infrastructure. Our team conducts the analysis, feasibility studies and testing of mechanical products, instruments, subassemblies and packaging for new and existing products – and then oversees the introduction of design changes to the manufacturing organizations.

What you’ll achieve

As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you’ll be responsible for development of Rack-Level Data Center AI solutions and work with our global mechanical, electrical and thermal engineering community on cutting edge AI solutions.

You will:

  • Help drive early concept feasibility to support and/or influence product requirements
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines to drive customer-focused product solutions and influence portfolio strategy
  • Use 3D CAD software to design sheet metal, plastic, die cast and other components and assemblies
  • Utilize robust design practices to design, prototype and assess mechanical concept feasibility
  • Interface with suppliers, manufacturing, quality, tooling engineering and other internal engineering disciplines to ensure the successful development and launch of new products

Essential Requirements:

  • Leads electro‑mechanical product development, evaluating design options to identify optimal solutions and drive issue resolution
  • Interprets complex technical documentation, including data sheets, detailed drawings, and 3D models
  • Performs CAD design with strong ability to analyze results from FEA tools
  • Experienced in integrating Direct Liquid Cooling systems into servers or similar platforms, including mounting, routing and interconnect design
  • Adapts to evolving design requirements while communicating effectively and influencing global, cross‑functional teams

Desirable Requirements:

  • Typically requires 5+ years of related experience in a professional role with a Bachelor’s degree; or 3+ years with a Master’s degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent experience

Compensation

Dell is committed to fair and equitable compensation practices. The salary range for this position is $116,450 - $150,700.
