Now Hiring: Senior Marketing Communications Specialist

The Senior Marketing Communications Specialist plays a key role on the Marketing team, helping shape and strengthen Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union’s brand, voice, and public presence. The position serves as an important connection between the Credit Union and its members, community, and media by supporting public relations, digital and website content, online reputation, financial wellness initiatives, and community engagement efforts through a variety of content mediums. Through this work, the Senior Marketing Communications Specialist helps build awareness, foster engagement, and reinforce the Credit Union’s commitment to its members and communities.

Working collaboratively with the Marketing team and across departments, the Senior Marketing Communications Specialist helps bring the Credit Union’s priorities and initiatives to life through clear, compelling, and consistent communications across a variety of channels. The role balances creativity and strategic thinking with attention to brand standards, compliance, and organizational goals.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

  • Develops, plans, and maintains engaging content for marketing and social media campaigns. Creates and implements monthly content and social media calendars, email campaigns, brochures, advertisements, and other collateral that accurately reflect Jeanne D’Arc Credit Union’s brand and adhere to compliance standards.
  • Drafts press releases, pitches stories, and communicates with press contacts, community outlets, and industry journals to acquire press for the Credit Union. 
  • Serves as a brand steward, ensuring consistent voice, messaging, and visual identity across marketing and communications channels while maintaining compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Oversees the Credit Union’s online reputation and digital presence, supporting meaningful engagement and a positive, consistent experience across social media and other online platforms. 
  • Tracks, analyzes, and reports on social media performance metrics and insights to evaluate effectiveness, identify trends, and inform content and campaign strategies.
  • Manages, edits, and grows The Money Mill Blog as a key resource for member education and engagement.
  • Develops and executes marketing promotions and campaigns in collaboration with the Marketing team, internal departments, and external vendors.
  • Writes, edits, and updates clear, engaging website content that supports marketing initiatives, reflects the Credit Union’s brand voice, meets member information needs, and remains compliant.
  • Supports marketing and communications initiatives related to the Credit Union’s financial wellness programs and community engagement efforts.
  • Represents the Credit Union at community and organizational events, generates content from these events for use across marketing and communications channels, and helps strengthen relationships with members, prospective members, community partners, and the public.
  • Perform all duties consistent with applicable Federal and State laws and regulations as well as credit union policies.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned. 

Supervisory Responsibilities: This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities.

Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, and Education and/or Experience): 

Knowledge 

  • Strong understanding of integrated marketing communications, branding, advertising, content development, promotions, public relations, and member engagement strategies. 
  • Knowledge of applicable regulatory and compliance requirements, with the ability to review marketing and communications content for accuracy, consistency, and compliance to support fair and consistent practices.

Skills

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required, including, writing correspondence and reports with the correct use of grammar, punctuation, and sentence structure.
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to ensure accuracy, consistency, and quality across all marketing communications and materials.
  • Expertise in content development ensuring messaging aligns with the Credit Union’s mission, values, and commitment to provide excellent member experience. 
  • Effective organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines.
  • Strong collaboration and interpersonal skills with the ability to build effective relationships across departs and with external partners. 
  • Proficiency with social media platforms and digital content creation, including developing content tailored to varying audiences and channels.
  • Video content creation skills, including planning, scripting, capturing, and editing engaging video content for use across digital, social media, and other marketing channels.
  • Proficient knowledge of WordPress or similar website content management system.
  • Familiarity with HubSpot and other marketing automation or customer relationship management platforms preferred.
  • Performs intermediate to advanced functions in the following software applications: 
  • Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint)

  • Adobe Creative Cloud
  • HubSpot
  • Wordpress
  • Meta Business Suite

 Abilities

  • Managing multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining exceptional quality, accuracy and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working independently while collaborating effectively with cross-functional teams; adapt to changing priorities and evolving business needs.
  • Exercising sound judgment, maintain confidentiality, and handle sensitive information appropriately.
  • Adapting messaging and communication styles to effectively engage different audiences, including members, prospective members, employees, community partners, and the general public. 
  • Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and recommend innovative creative solutions.

Education and/or Experience 

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Communications, Graphic Design, or a related field required; and
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of similar or related experience. Experience within the financial industry or knowledge of banking and/or Credit Union specific products, services, and regulations is preferred; and
  • Demonstrated portfolio showcasing expertise in print, digital, branding, and marketing communications; or
  • Equivalent combination of education and experience.
