Job Description SummaryAs Senior Manufacturing Manager – Assembly and Test Operation Management, you will provide strategic oversight for a high-priority engine program, focused on improving execution, operational efficiency, material flow, and cross-functional alignment. The position partners with business, engineering, quality, manufacturing, and logistics teams to close gaps between product line expectations and operational response, establish standard work, improve cycle time and throughput, and build a more scalable model for long-term growth. Based in Lynn, MA, the role includes regular travel to support program alignment across operations and logistics.

Job Description

Job Responsibilities

  • Manage an operation, business, unit, or part of a production facility in order to reach defined targets in quality, cost, delivery and safety. Ensure continuous business improvement according to benchmarks and standards.
  • Requires specialized knowledge within the function. Influence the development of strategy for the area of responsibility, including control of resources and influences policy formulation.
  • Interprets simple internal and external business challenges and recommends best practices to improve products, processes or services. Stays informed of industry trends that may inform work.
  • Uses high level of judgment to make decisions and handle complex tasks or problems in areas of operational, product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Has ability to assess quality of information given and ask pertinent questions to stakeholders. Able to offer new solutions to problems outside of set parameters and is able to construct and provide recommendations. Uses multiple internal and some external sources outside of own function to help arrive at a decision.
  • May lead functional teams or projects with minimal resource requirements, risk, and/or complexity. Communicates difficult concepts and may influence others' options on particular topics. May guide others to consider a different point of view.
  • Direct and oversee all aspects of assembly and test operations, including production planning, scheduling, and execution.
  • Lead and influence an indirect team of manufacturing professionals, fostering a culture of continuous improvement, accountability, and safety.
  • Implement and maintain lean manufacturing principles and Six Sigma methodologies to enhance productivity and reduce waste.
  • Manage operational budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities, and ensure financial targets are met.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineering, supply chain, quality, and sales, to achieve business objectives.
  • Develop and execute strategic plans for capacity planning, process improvement, and new product introductions.
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies, procedures, and relevant industry regulations (e.g., EHS, quality standards).
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement corrective actions to address deviations and drive performance.
  • Identify and implement new technologies and automation solutions to improve manufacturing processes.
  • Lead problem-solving initiatives and root cause analysis for manufacturing issues.

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or advanced degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Industrial, Electrical), Manufacturing, Operations Management, or a related technical field OR a High School Diploma with 4 years progressive experience in assembly, test, and manufacturing operations
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in assembly, test, manufacturing operations
  • Ability to travel at least 30% of the time.

Desired Characteristics

  • Minimum of 8 years of progressive experience in engine assembly and test, with at least 3 years in a leadership role within a complex manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of driving operational excellence, implementing lean manufacturing, and achieving significant improvements in safety, quality, delivery, and cost.
  • Strong leadership and team-building skills, with experience in managing and developing relationships with external vendors.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
  • Proficiency in manufacturing execution systems (MES) and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of safety regulations and quality management systems (e.g., ISO 9001).
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt or Black Belt certification is highly desirable.

The base pay range for this position is 156,400.00 - 208,150.00 USD Annual. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary/ commission based on the plan. This posting is expected to close on June 22, 2026.
