Position Summary: The Senior Manager, Strategic Events & Industry Trade Relations plays a critical role in driving the Products & Healthcare Services event strategy across marketing, executive, and commercial functions. This position is accountable for the strategic planning, coordination, and execution of both external-facing industry events and internal corporate meetings—such as trade shows, recognition programs, executive forums, and customer engagements. The role requires strategic thinking, exceptional cross-functional collaboration, and the ability to manage high-impact vendor partnerships, all while ensuring alignment with overarching brand, customer, and business priorities. Close alignment with the VP of Industry Relations ensures event strategies support broader industry engagement goals. This leader will be instrumental in shaping how the company shows up at key platforms, deepening customer, and stakeholder engagement, and amplifying the business impact of events. The role also oversees comprehensive budget management and monthly event performance reporting, ensuring transparency, fiscal discipline, and continuous improvement across the full event portfolio.
Core Responsibilities:
Lead the strategic planning and seamless execution of industry trade shows, conferences, and external marketing activations that enhance brand visibility and drive business growth.
Oversee executive-level engagement events such as roundtables, advisory boards, strategic forums, and high-profile onsite milestone events that celebrate achievements and strengthen relationships.
Define event KPIs and success metrics in collaboration with commercial and brand leadership to ensure each initiative delivers measurable business outcomes.
Partner cross-functionally with marketing, commercial, brand, creative, and corporate communications teams to ensure alignment in event messaging, experience, and branding.
Develop and manage vendor relationships, negotiate contracts, and oversee logistics, production, and creative services to deliver high-quality event experiences.
Own and manage event budgets, ensuring accurate forecasting, cost control, and alignment with departmental financial objectives.
Prepare and present monthly event performance reports, including ROI analysis, spend tracking, engagement insights, and strategic recommendations.
Coordinate all operational aspects of events, including registration, staffing, materials, travel logistics, and onsite execution.
Use data and attendee feedback to evaluate event success and continuously refine strategy, content, and experience design.
Serve as a key contributor to the annual events calendar, ensuring alignment of priorities, resources, and strategic focus across all initiatives.
Identify and evaluate sponsorship and partnership opportunities at trade events to further brand visibility and support commercial goals.
Travel approximately 25% or more to support onsite execution of trade shows, meetings, and special events.
Qualifying Experience:
Minimum 6 years of progressive experience in event marketing or corporate event management, preferably in B2B or healthcare industries.
Demonstrated expertise in project management, vendor negotiation, and multi-stakeholder collaboration.
Strong communication and influencing skills with the ability to engage cross-functional teams and senior leadership effectively.
Proficient in budget management and financial reporting related to event planning and execution.
Experience with event management platforms (e.g., Cvent, Splash) is preferred.
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, Business, or a related field required.
Experience leading direct or cross-functional teams with an emphasis on performance development, collaboration, and accountability.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience managing events that support commercial sales teams, executive leadership, and employee recognition.
Knowledge of the healthcare industry and related regulatory environment.
Familiarity with event marketing strategies and integration with broader marketing campaigns.
Professional event certification (e.g., CMP) is a plus but not required.
Reporting Structure & Collaboration
Reports to Senior Director, Marketing, P&HS. Collaborates with VP of Industry Relations, Commercial Leadership, Brand, Sales Enablement, Corporate Communications, Creative Teams, and external vendors.
