Working closely with the Architecture and Security groups, this role will be responsible for ensuring that the technical deliverables that will underpin the FedNow service are world class in terms of design, performance, and quality, and leverages the technologies and solutions that will enable FedNow to deliver instant payment settlement for the next 50 years.

The salary range for this position is $188,000.00 - $235,000.00 - $282,000.00. The Boston Fed believes in salary transparency. The final salary and offer will be determined by the applicant's background, skills, internal equity, and alignment with market data. If you reside outside of the 1st District, you may be hired by your local Federal Reserve District and compensation will follow hiring District's range and policy.

What will be expected of you-
- You will lead and inspire a team of engineers responsible for:
- FedNow application design and build, including user/customer-facing web apps if needed
- Deliver a robust, highly scalable, highly available solution (24/7/365)
- Integration with core systems, and third party systems
- Works with Vendors on co-deliverables as needed
- Design and code standards adherence
- Test automation approaches and tools (UI Testing, mocking etc.)
- Automation, and optimization, including security to support DevSecOps
- Analytical tools (AI, ML etc.) to optimize/automate/augment testing
- All data implementation, including modelling, design and strategy
- Design and develop BI, Analytics, Big Data, Data science, ETL as needed for FedNow
- Design application user interfaces for FedNow apps
- Development and implementation of the User Experience, including UI idioms and standards and accessibility
- Partnering with product managers and business owners to deliver the product
- Identifying and implementing automation opportunities in areas such as testing, code generation, and other productivity tooling
Expertise you will bring-
- Minimum of 10 years professional experience including at least five years leadership.
- Experience engineering solutions for cloud based, distributed architectures.
- Strong experience in Agile delivery, using DevOps/DevSecOps processes and tooling.
- Familiarity in delivering software products, working with Product Managers.
- Experience working with distributed teams, and providers of software solutions.
- Experience preferred but not limited to the financial services industry, payments transactions and financial products.
- Entrepreneurial approach to building new solutions with a proven track-record of delivery; significant expertise in vendor management and large-scale program management.
- Strong knowledge and experience in managing cybersecurity risk and in building resilient systems.
- Demonstrated learning agility that resulted in effective decision making within a complex and high-volume transaction processing environment.
- Deep understanding of Enterprise-class technologies, tools, and languages.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change, flexibly adapt to a rapidly changing environment and generate effective and innovative solutions to address change.
- Proven record of excellent business judgment and acumen.
- Ability to be flexible and pivot to competing priorities at any given time.
- Strong oral and written communication skills that effectively reach all levels of the organization.
