As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase, within the Consumer & Community Banking API Marketplace team, you will play a pivotal role in an agile team dedicated to building, enhancing, and delivering the API Platform that empowers our API developers. We are seeking engineers with a broad technical perspective and a passion for solving complex challenges across multiple disciplines. In this role, you will manage end-to-end problem-solving, advocate for effective solutions across diverse technology stacks, and help drive meaningful business value for our customers through robust API offerings.
Job responsibilities• Provide overall direction, oversight, and coaching for a team of entry-level to senior software engineers working on end-to-end problems for the API platform of Consumer and Community Banking• Be accountable for decisions that influence team resources, budget, tactical operations, and the execution and implementation of processes and procedures• Ensure successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders• Identify and mitigate issues to execute a book of work, escalating issues as necessary• Provide input to leadership regarding budget, approach, and technical considerations to improve operational efficiencies and functionality for the team• Create a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect for team members, and prioritize diverse representation
Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills• Formal training or certification in software engineering concepts and 5+ years of applied experience. In addition, 2+ years of experience leading technologists to manage and solve complex technical challenges within your domain of expertise• Hands-on programming/application development experience utilizing Java, Spring Boot, REST, Microservices, RDBMS and NoSQL databases, Cloud Native, Agile, DevOps, and TDD• Recent experience with a cloud platform such as AWS, and utilization of container technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes• Prior experience in building or using API Platforms, with deep expertise in one or more areas of the end-to-end API stack, including cloud connectivity, network diagnosis, resilient systems, API security, authentication/authorization, API gateways, and API design spanning specification, standards, documentation, and governance.• Ability to guide and coach teams on approaches to achieve goals aligned with strategic initiatives• Experience with hiring, developing, and recognizing talent• In-depth knowledge of the services industry and its IT systems• Practical cloud native experience• Experience in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field, with expertise in technology disciplines

- Demonstrated expertise in networking and connectivity, including diagnosing network latency issues, understanding DNS behavior, cloud connectivity, and content delivery networks (CDNs).
- Strong proficiency in API security, covering transport-level security, payload encryption, signature algorithms, certificate management, OAuth, and DDoS protection.
- Proven experience designing highly scalable and resilient software systems on public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS), applying industry-standard resiliency principles and best practices.
- In-depth knowledge of API developer specifications, standards, and documentation, with a track record of promoting and implementing best practices at scale.
