Summary
As a Senior Manager, Software Engineering at OneStream, you will lead the design, development, delivery, and evolution of enterprise software products and services. This role combines strong people leadership, product delivery accountability, and hands-on technical leadership across complex applications and platforms that support OneStream customers.
The OneStream Platform spans complex OLAP, multi-dimensional processing, distributed systems, web technologies, and SQL-based architectures. You will guide engineering teams responsible for modular, maintainable, secure, scalable, and reliable software. You will partner closely with Product Management, Architecture, Quality Engineering, Cloud, Support, and other engineering teams to deliver strong customer outcomes. This is a hands-on leadership role expected to engage in architecture and design reviews, challenge technical decisions constructively, improve engineering systems, and build high-performing teams.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end delivery and lifecycle management for OneStream software products and services, from product discovery and technical design through development, validation, release, servicing, and ongoing optimization.
- Lead technical design and architecture for enterprise applications and platforms, shared frameworks, integrations, APIs, data models, installation and upgrade experiences, and extensibility patterns.
- Maintain hands-on engagement through architecture reviews, design reviews, code-quality reviews, debugging, customer issue analysis, and resolution of complex technical challenges.
- Ensure high standards for software quality, automated testing, security, performance, maintainability, backward compatibility, upgradeability, and operational readiness.
- Partner with Product Management to translate business outcomes and customer needs into clear technical priorities, executable plans, and predictable releases.
- Coordinate with Architecture and engineering partners to align products and services with supported platform patterns, release compatibility, cloud requirements, and long-term technical direction.
- Drive consistent engineering practices across teams, including source control, branching, peer review, CI/CD, test automation, documentation, telemetry, release governance, and production support readiness.
- Use customer feedback, support trends, quality signals, telemetry, retrospectives, and postmortems to prioritize reliability improvements and reduce recurring issues.
- Identify and remove technical, process, and organizational bottlenecks that limit delivery flow, quality, or cross-team collaboration.
- Drive responsible adoption of AI-assisted development and testing practices, with appropriate review for correctness, security, data privacy, maintainability, and architecture alignment.
- Own roadmap execution with accountability for scope, dependencies, timelines, quality, risks, and measurable outcomes while balancing delivery speed with product and customer stability.
- Communicate technical direction, delivery status, dependencies, trade-offs, and risks clearly to engineering, product, support, and executive stakeholders.
- Build, lead, and develop high-performing engineering teams; set clear expectations and foster a culture of ownership, customer empathy, collaboration, inclusion, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Coach and mentor engineering managers, technical leaders, and software engineers; support succession planning, career development, hiring, onboarding, and retention.
- Promote effective cross-team contribution and reuse across OneStream Engineering while maintaining clear ownership, review standards, and governance.
Required Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- 10+ years of software engineering experience delivering complex enterprise applications or SaaS products.
- 5+ years of experience leading software engineering teams; experience leading multiple teams or engineering managers is preferred.
- Experience delivering production software through multiple release cycles, including planning, development, quality validation, deployment, servicing, and customer support.
- Strong knowledge of modern software architecture and engineering practices, including .NET-based applications, web technologies, APIs, relational data, distributed systems, automated testing, CI/CD, and cloud-hosted deployment patterns.
- Experience leading technical and organizational changes while improving delivery predictability, engineering quality, and team effectiveness.
- Demonstrated ability to partner across Product, Architecture, Quality, Cloud, Support, and other Engineering organizations.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Experience with enterprise software, Corporate Performance Management, Enterprise Performance Management, financial systems, analytics, or related business applications.
- Experience building extensible enterprise applications, platforms, or product portfolios using shared software services and frameworks.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure, cloud-native services, observability, secure software development, and production operations.
- Familiarity with AI/ML integration, AI-assisted software development, modern developer tooling, and automation frameworks.
- Experience with enterprise application compatibility, installation, upgrade, release governance, and backward-compatible APIs or data contracts.
- Prior OneStream product or platform experience.

- Strong technical judgment and systems thinking, with the ability to challenge and elevate architecture, design, quality, and delivery decisions.
- Proven ability to lead, scale, and develop high-performing engineering teams while maintaining clear accountability and psychological safety.
- Customer-centric mindset with a strong understanding of enterprise software reliability, usability, supportability, and lifecycle expectations.
- Ability to connect product strategy, solution architecture, engineering execution, and customer outcomes.
- Exceptional problem-solving, prioritization, and decision-making skills in a fast-paced environment with competing priorities.
- Clear, confident communication across technical, business, and executive audiences.
