Who We Are:
Interra Health is a fast-growing healthcare technology company transforming how providers and patients navigate the prescription journey. Formed through the merger of DoseSpot, Arrive Health, and pVerify, Interra Health delivers trusted eligibility, real-time coverage and pricing insights, prescribing tools, and pharmacy transparency at the point of care—helping providers make informed decisions and patients access the right medications with greater clarity and affordability. Backed by strong market momentum and a bold vision for the future of connected care, Interra Health offers the chance to join an innovative, mission-driven team working at the intersection of software and healthcare to reduce friction, improve access, and make the healthcare experience better for everyone.

The Role:

The Senior Manager, Software Development will lead multiple engineering PODs responsible for building and supporting our core SaaS platform hosted in Microsoft Azure. This is a high-impact leadership role for someone who thrives at the intersection of people management, technology leadership, and product delivery. You will own the development roadmap for a platform handling millions of transactions and API calls daily, ensuring scalability, reliability, and performance at every layer of the stack.

Operating within a fast-paced agile environment, the Senior Manager will oversee day-to-day execution, team performance, and risk management — all while ensuring high-quality, on-time delivery that is tightly aligned with product and business priorities. This leader will also play a foundational role in advancing our AI-first engineering culture, championing the integration of AI-driven tooling, automation, and intelligent capabilities across the platform and within the development lifecycle itself.

What you’ll do:

Leadership & Team Development

  • Lead, mentor, and grow a team of 10+ software engineers across multiple PODs, including Senior Engineers, Tech Leads, and QA Engineers — with a demonstrated track record of successfully managing squad-based delivery models at scale.

  • Champion a growth mindset culture by transforming engineering teams through coaching, psychological safety, continuous learning, and a bias toward experimentation and measurable improvement.

  • Foster a culture of engineering excellence, ownership, and accountability where teams are empowered to innovate and self-organize.

  • Partner with Talent Acquisition to attract and hire top-tier engineering talent, building a diverse and high-performing organization.

  • Conduct regular 1:1s, performance reviews, and structured career development planning with an emphasis on identifying and unlocking individual potential.

Execution & Delivery

  • Proactively identify, prioritize, and manage competing demands across PODs, ensuring clarity of focus and alignment with strategic objectives.

  • Oversee end-to-end delivery across all phases of the SDLC — from design and development through testing and production deployment — maintaining high standards of quality throughout.

  • Deliver initiatives on time and within scope; provide reliable, concise, and actionable project status updates to leadership and business stakeholders.

  • Engage directly with PODs to model and reinforce best practices in software development, testing, and deployment — leading by example rather than delegation alone.

  • Serve as a DevOps and automation advocate, driving CI/CD maturity, release discipline, and a culture of operational excellence.

  • Participate in architectural decisions around microservices, event-driven systems, API gateway strategies, and distributed systems to ensure scalability, resilience, and performance.

  • Establish and track baseline engineering and delivery metrics, including velocity, quality, and operational health indicators, using data to measure progress, identify gaps, and drive continuous improvement across the team.

Engineering Metrics, Tracking & Reporting

  • Define, implement, and continuously refine a comprehensive set of engineering metrics that provide meaningful visibility into team health, delivery performance, and platform quality.

  • Track and report on key DORA metrics — deployment frequency, lead time for changes, change failure rate, and mean time to recovery (MTTR) — as core indicators of engineering effectiveness.

  • Establish dashboards and reporting cadences that deliver transparent, data-driven insights to engineering leadership, product stakeholders, and executive sponsors.

  • Use metrics not as a measurement tool alone, but as a coaching instrument — leveraging data to identify bottlenecks, celebrate progress, guide prioritization, and drive continuous improvement conversations within and across PODs.

  • Monitor and report on platform reliability and operational KPIs including SLA/SLO attainment, incident trends, and system performance benchmarks.

  • Champion a culture of accountability through visibility — ensuring teams understand the metrics that matter, own their outcomes, and are equipped to act on the data.

Stakeholder Collaboration and Communication

  • Build strong, trust-based relationships with business users, product owners, technology teams, and cross-functional partners.

  • Collaborate closely with the Product Owner to deeply understand business needs and translate them into well-scoped technical solutions.

  • Communicate proactively and transparently across all levels of the organization, ensuring alignment on priorities, risks, and delivery commitments.

AI-First Engineering

  • Serve as a champion and driver of the organization's AI-first engineering strategy, ensuring AI is treated as a core capability — not an afterthought.

  • Lead the evaluation and adoption of AI-powered development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code, AI-assisted testing, intelligent observability) to accelerate team productivity and code quality.

  • Cultivate an engineering culture where teams are encouraged to continuously explore, experiment with, and responsibly apply AI technologies.

  • Stay current on the evolving AI landscape and serve as an informed voice in shaping the organization's long-term AI roadmap.

What You’ll Bring:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or a technology-related field; 12+ years of software engineering experience, with 4+ years in engineering leadership roles managing multiple technical teams.

  • A genuine passion for AI and emerging technologies, with hands-on experience or a strong working knowledge of how AI tools and capabilities can be applied within an engineering organization.

  • Proven experience leading development on a high-transaction SaaS platform (millions of API calls/transactions per day).

  • Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure; deep familiarity with Azure-native services and cloud-native architecture patterns.

  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, microservices architecture, and cloud-native development principles.

  • Strong command of API design principles, REST, GraphQL, and API lifecycle management.

  • Hands-on background in one or more modern languages and frameworks (e.g., Java, Python, Node.js, Go, .NET).

  • Demonstrated success with agile methodologies and modern software delivery practices.

  • Proven experience working in regulated environments with strict data access controls, compliance requirements, and audit readiness.

  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities, maintain attention to detail, and communicate effectively across audiences.

  • Excellent communication skills and executive presence, with the ability to influence and align stakeholders at all levels.

  • Healthcare technology (health tech) experience is a strong plus, particularly with EHR/EMR integrations or payer/provider platforms.

Core Competencies:

  • Knowledge & Application: Applies advanced, specialized expertise with a high degree of independence. Establishes operational objectives and standards, exercises sound judgment in ambiguous situations, and continuously integrates emerging tools and technologies — including AI — to raise the bar for their teams.

  • Complexity & Problem Solving: Navigates problems that are not clearly defined and often lack established direction, requiring conceptual thinking and organizational awareness. Defines approaches rather than following prescribed ones, and drives solutions with medium-to-long-term impact across multiple teams and business areas.

  • Collaboration & Interaction: Engages regularly across functions and levels of the organization, including senior leadership. Persuades and builds alignment in complex, sensitive situations while preserving relationships. Develops and holds their team accountable, while serving as a credible, trusted voice beyond their direct area of ownership.

Working Conditions & Environment

  • Fully remote role but expected to work core eastern time zone hours

  • Periodic travel (approximately 10-20%) for team meetings, customer visits, and industry events

  • Operates in a fast-paced, growth-oriented, PE-backed SaaS environment

  • Requires cross-functional collaboration across Product, Sales, Customer Success, and Executive Leadership

  • Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects and shifting priorities

  • Success in this role requires the ability to balance synchronous collaboration with thoughtful asynchronous execution in a remote-first environment.

Benefits & Perks:

🌍Remote work environment with a flexible work schedule to encourage work-life balance

✈Annual company offsite

🌴Generous leave package including flexible time off policy that encourages team members to take time off to relax and recharge; plus 13 paid holidays, paid sick leave, and paid parental leave

💙 Medical, dental, and vision insurance for you and your family, plus a company funded FSA & HSA (dependent on which medical plan you choose)

💰401(k) company match

💸One-time workspace reimbursement to help you optimize your remote workspace
