Position Overview

The Senior Manager, Provider Strategy operates within a high-growth, strategic business area focused on advancing Provider performance and will lead high-impact, cross-functional initiatives aimed at optimizing provider economics and operating model effectiveness. Key areas of focus include pricing strategy, provider retention and conversion, go-to-market testing and scaling, service model optimization, and strengthening the overall Provider Value Proposition. The role applies data-driven analysis to identify opportunities, inform strategic direction, and drive measurable business outcomes.
This position partners closely with teams across Strategy, Product, Analytics, Finance, Network/Provider Relations, Sales, and Operations to ensure alignment and execution of initiatives.
Reporting to the Director, Provider Strategy, this role requires strong analytical, strategic, and cross-functional leadership capabilities to support Provider priorities and performance improvement efforts.

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead the design and execution of high-impact initiatives within the Provider Performance strategy, including pricing guardrails, retention and conversion playbooks, value proposition enhancements, and market research to identify gaps and opportunities

  • Develop strategic frameworks, business cases, and multi-year plans to support growth, performance improvement, and transformation efforts

  • Partner cross-functionally with Product, Sales, Partnerships, and other stakeholders to evolve the Provider operating model and drive alignment across the organization

  • In collaboration with the Director, align teams around a shared strategy by establishing clear objectives, KPIs, and accountability across functions

  • Establish and refine business unit KPIs, performance dashboards, and analytics to track progress, inform decisions, and elevate business performance

  • Drive executive-level communications by synthesizing complex analyses into clear, compelling materials for senior leadership and Board of Directors presentations

  • Design and implement scalable process improvement frameworks to enhance operational efficiency and effectiveness across business units

  • Proactively identify risks and strategic gaps, escalating issues as needed and recommending actionable solutions to senior leadership

  • Contribute to building team culture and operating norms for a high-performing, collaborative environment

  • Mentor junior team members, fostering strong analytical capabilities, structured thinking, and best practices


What You’ll Bring to Zelis:

  • 6–8 years of professional experience in strategy, operations, business planning, or a related field; experience in consulting, corporate strategy, or other highly analytical environments is strongly preferred

  • Proven ability to structure and solve complex business problems, leveraging data and AI tools to generate insights and drive actionable recommendations and improve analysis efficiency

  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with experience building business cases, financial models, and performance frameworks

  • Demonstrated experience leading cross-functional initiatives and influencing stakeholders across multiple levels of an organization

  • Exceptional communication skills, with the ability to synthesize complex concepts into clear, compelling narratives for senior leadership

  • Experience developing and tracking KPIs, dashboards, and performance metrics to monitor business outcomes and inform decision-making

  • Ability to operate in a fast-paced, high-growth environment with a high degree of ownership, accountability, and adaptability

  • Strong project management and organizational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities and drive initiatives from concept through execution

  • Experience mentoring or supporting junior team members, fostering structured thinking and best practices

Location and Workplace Flexibility

We have offices in Atlanta GA, Boston MA, Morristown NJ, Plano TX, St. Louis MO, St. Petersburg FL, and Hyderabad, India. We foster a hybrid and remote friendly culture, and all our employee's work locations are based on the needs of the position and determined by the Leadership team. In-office work and activities, if applicable, vary based on the work and team objectives in accordance with Company policies.

Base Salary Range

$139,000.00 - $176,700.00

At Zelis we are committed to providing fair and equitable compensation packages. The base salary range allows us to make an offer that considers multiple individualized factors, including experience, education, qualifications, as well as job-related and industry-related knowledge and skills, etc. Base pay is just one part of our Total Rewards package, which may also include discretionary bonus plans, commissions, or other incentives depending on the role.
