We seek a Senior Manager of Project Development to develop stand-alone utility-scale energy storage and renewable hybrid projects from market assessment to site development and through financial close throughout the WECC market. This is a high-visibility role in an organization with an established portfolio. The successful candidate will be immediately assigned a portfolio of projects to manage while contributing to regional expansion.
Responsibilities:
- Lead project development activities from inception to financial close by coordinating with internal and external subject matter experts to meet project objectives;
- Develop and own relationships with external project stakeholders, including landowners, permitting authorities, and utilities;
- Lead recurring project reporting, including status tracing, risk identification and mitigation, and financial performance to the Director and executives;
- Source consultants and lead negotiation of scopes of work for development studies and activities;
- Support the Commercial team in project marketing and solicitation, i.e., RFP response;
- Contribute to development and project acquisition due diligence;
- Monitor regulatory and policy changes and incorporate them into project development strategy;
- Other duties as assigned or required.
Key Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s or master’s degree in Engineering, Finance, Environmental Science, or similar with a graduate degree (MBA) a strong plus;
- Minimum of six (6) years of experience with demonstrated project success in utility-scale renewable energy project development;
- Ability to thrive in an entrepreneurial environment, including a creative and proactive work ethic;
- Strong project management skills with experience managing multiple large teams on concurrent projects;
- Demonstrated ability to accurately assess, quantify, and resolve project and contractual risk;
- Knowledge of and experience in WECC, including legal, regulatory, and environmental aspects;
- Experience in MS Office (Teams, Project, PowerPoint, Excel).
Compensation and Location:
- Salary: A base salary commensurate with experience.
- Bonus: An annual bonus will be awarded based on individual performance and the business's overall success.
