This high-impact, player-coach role sits at the heart of our customer engagement strategy, where deep product expertise meets customer outcomes and commercial growth.
Based in Boston, you’ll manage and mentor a global team that serves as trusted advisors to our clients, helping them unlock the full value of Wood Mackenzie’s market-leading P&R research and analytics. Your team will work closely with customers to understand their workflows and challenges, delivering high-value training, product demonstrations, and tailored support that drives adoption, satisfaction, and commercial success.
As a leader, you’ll coach and develop talent, track performance, and ensure the team is aligned to strategic goals. You’ll also play a customer-facing role, engaging directly with top-tier energy and commodity firms to elevate their experience and maximize the impact of our solutions.
This is a unique opportunity to shape the customer journey and make a direct contribution to the global energy transition, while building and leading a world-class team of product specialists.
Main Responsibilities:
Drive Team Performance: Ensure the Power & Renewables (P&R) Product Specialist team meets Customer Organisation (CO) targets by tracking performance, measuring effectiveness, and implementing continuous improvement strategies.
Develop Deep Product Expertise: Foster a culture of learning and growth by ensuring every team member builds comprehensive knowledge of P&R products and product roadmaps. Collaborate with Learning & Development (L&D) to design and implement structured learning plans.
Maximize Commercial Impact: Partner closely with Customer Success Managers (CSMs) and Account Managers to position P&R products effectively, helping customers connect product capabilities to their specific workflows and challenges.
Influence Product Strategy: Strengthen collaboration between the Product Specialist team and P&R Product Owners to shape the product roadmap by leveraging customer feedback, on-the-ground insights, and domain expertise.
Enhance Customer Support Content: Collaborate with the WoodMac Learn manager to develop, maintain, and optimise P&R-related content on the Customer Support Platform and WoodMac Learn.
Manage Team Budget: Oversee travel and expenses (T&E) for the global P&R Product Specialist team, ensuring cost-effective use of resources aligned with business priorities.
Contribute to Leadership Initiatives: Actively contribute to organisation-wide initiatives, leading cross-functional projects, and delivering quarterly team performance insights.
Collaborate Across Specialist Teams: Work in partnership with leaders from the Upstream, Commodities, and WoodMac Learn teams to coordinate resource planning, share best practices, and align deliverables across the global Product Specialist function.
