Job Description

The Opportunity:

We are looking for a Senior Manager, Product Operations to lead the core operations engine of our Payments Ecosystem. In this role, you will bridge the gap between our Platform, Network, Pricing, and Global Operations teams—enabling consistent planning, roadmapping, and reporting that aligns our technical delivery with our market-facing strategy.

(Boston preferred; Remote optional for exceptional candidates)

This position reports to the VP of Product Management – Payments Platform.

Build and Run the Payments Ecosystem Operating Rhythm

  • Build and Run the Payments Operating Rhythm: Design and manage the rhythm of business—including cross-functional syncs between Product, Network, Pricing and Operations and Engineering teams. Standardize cadences and delivery hygiene across all domains to ensure market-facing teams are aligned with platform development.
  • Drive Execution Excellence & Governance — regular cross-domain syncs, dependency management, roadmap updates, feature scope & OKR reviews,  change requests, capacity planning, escalation pathways.
  • Bridge the Product-to-Market Gap: Serve as the connective tissue between the Payments Platform and the business. Facilitate the feedback loop between customer-facing teams and Product to ensure market requirements, pricing adjustments, and operational pain points are prioritized.
  • Ensure communication and alignment across global teams remain consistent. Serve as the keeper of institutional context — nothing gets lost between teams or quarters.

Create Execution Visibility and Governance

  • Maintain an integrated delivery tracker covering milestones, dependencies, and key risks across the Platform domains, Network and the Verticals.
  • Identify systemic blockers early and coordinate cross-team resolution.
  • Create standard reporting for timeline risks, cross-team dependencies, migration blockers and operational bottlenecks.

Strengthen Leadership Communication & Executive Decks

  • Prepare executive presentations, quarterly platform reviews, and exec-level summaries in partnership with the VP of Payments Platform.
  • Translate complex technical and operational updates into concise business-ready narratives and visuals.
  • Maintain decision logs, risk summaries, and progress dashboards that feed directly into executive reporting.
  • Draft and polish internal comms (updates, announcements, leadership readouts) that reinforce alignment and transparency.

Drive Continuous Improvement

  • Lead retrospectives and post-mortems for major initiatives; track and close lessons learned.
  • Identify recurring friction points and recommend process or tooling improvements.
  • Continuously refine templates, workflows, and practices to make the platform faster and more predictable.

Qualifications

What we're looking for:

  • 8–12 years of experience in Product Operations, PMO, program management ideally in payments, fintech, or SaaS.
  • Deep Payments Knowledge: A strong understanding of the "life of a payment," including payment economics (Pricing, Interchange, FX), settlement workflows, and operational scaling.
  • A foundational technical background (e.g., prior engineering or technical product or program management experience) is strongly preferred.
  • Experience driving execution across complex, globally distributed teams and programs with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management — executive-ready storytelling with data, and hands-on facilitation across engineering, product, payments network, operations, and partner groups.
  • Skilled with JIRA, Looker, Confluence and Google Workspace.
  • Calm, structured, and precise; thrives in dynamic, high-visibility environments.
  • Demonstrated process improvements (templates, playbooks, postmortems, retrospectives) that reduce cycle time and improve predictability across programs.

Why It Matters:

You will be the connective force that keeps our Payments Platform operating with precision — enabling leadership to focus on growth while the platform executes with predictability, transparency, and momentum.

  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
