Job DescriptionThe Opportunity:
We, at Flywire, are seeking a Senior Manager, People Operations to develop, lead, and optimize the execution of our global People Team programs and processes. With a focus on operational excellence across Flywire’s global footprint, in particular the Americas region, this role ensures our people strategies meet diverse cultural, regulatory, and business needs. This role is pivotal in fostering a culture of operational excellence, manager enablement, and FlyMate advocacy, ensuring our people practices align with Flywire’s values, vision, and commitment to equity and inclusion.
This role plays a strategic part in shaping a high-performing, engaged workforce by partnering with managers to implement impactful people strategies. Leveraging data-driven insights and global collaboration, the ideal candidate will go beyond execution—designing and continuously improving scalable, future-ready processes that elevate the FlyMate experience, strengthen manager capability, and support Flywire’s continued growth.
The People Operations Manager will also lead and build capabilities within the Global People Operations team and guide members to deliver exceptional results while contributing effectively to Flywire’s strategic goals.
1. Driving Operational Excellence in People Operations
- Lead the design, execution, and continuous improvement of global People Team programs and processes, ensuring they scale with growth and align with Flywire’s values, strategic priorities, and business goals.
- Drive operational excellence in the Americas by adapting global processes to regional needs, improving efficiency, mitigating risk, and delivering impactful employee and business outcomes.
- Embed Flywire’s values and ideals into systems, frameworks, and practices that balance global consistency with compliance to local market and regulatory requirements.
- Lead and develop a culture of collaboration, accountability, and excellence within the Global People Operations team, ensuring team efforts align with and drive organizational goals.
2. Manager Enablement & Employee Advocacy
- Serve as a strategic partner to managers, equipping them with actionable insights and tailored resources through structured programs and initiatives, empowering them to lead with impact, build high-performing teams, and foster an inclusive and supportive work environment.
- Act as a dedicated advocate for employee needs by establishing frameworks and mechanisms for ongoing feedback and engagement, ensuring that these insights guide and refine the People Team’s strategies, programs, and policies.
- Partner with managers to enhance talent development and team management strategies, ensuring they are in sync with Flywire’s core values, People Manager Philosophy, and organizational growth goals, while driving team effectiveness and engagement.
3. Cross-Functional Collaboration & Strategic Partnership
- Build and maintain strong partnerships across the People Team Centers of Expertise (COEs) and key global departments (Finance, IT, Legal & Compliance, Risk, etc) to drive effective cross-functional collaboration.
- Serve as a trusted advisor on employee relations issues, balancing organizational needs with Flywire’s values and compliance standards.
- Partner with internal and external stakeholders to drive seamless, strategic, and impactful People-related initiatives.
4. Data-Driven Decision-Making & Strategic Insights
- Leverage data and analytics to influence People Team strategies, and proactively address risks and opportunities, driving improved results and fostering best-in-class experiences across the company.
- Align metrics and reporting with Flywire’s goals to drive improvements in programs, processes, and overall engagement and impact.
- Ensure data-driven storytelling is integral to communicating the People Team’s impact and advocating for continuous enhancement of employee experiences.
Here’s What We’re Looking For:
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, Master’s degree, or SPHR/GPHR certification preferred
- 8+ years of experience in Global People Operations and People Management, with a strong track record in high-growth, transformation, or fast-paced environments.
- Strong experience in employment law within the Americas region
- Strong service mindset and cross-functional collaboration skills, with a people-first approach and a proven ability to build trust and take initiative in dynamic, fast-paced environments.
- Proven ability to deliver complex services at scale—balancing structure with adaptability to meet evolving business needs.
- Demonstrated experience designing and executing People Operations programs and processes with a focus on innovation, continuous improvement, and proactive problem-solving.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to navigate ambiguity and use data or sound judgment to drive timely, impactful decisions.
- Significant project management experience leading the implementation of complex systems, processes, or programs with a focus on results and delivery at scale.
- Excellent communication skills in both written and spoken English, with the ability to simplify complexity and influence across levels.
- Impact-driven leader—dedicated to collaborating with diverse frontline teams and COEs across regions to manage evolving priorities, drive innovation, and deliver impactful results in complex, fast-moving environments.
