BE PART OF THE CONNECTION
As Senior Manager, News Gathering Operations, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of news gathering related to the network's daily production of news content and programming. You will lead a team of assignment desk personnel and supervise the activities of reporters who are responsible for bringing each news story to life. It will be your duty to ensure that the editorial and production values of news programming meet Spectrum News' NECN high standards consistently. By driving viewership, growing our audience, and strengthening the brand, you will play a critical role in shaping the network's future. You are an essential part of a collaborative team that produces compelling, timely, and accurate newscasts intended to engage and connect with our local audience.

  • Being responsible for the entire news gathering process, from conception to the air, and ensuring that the network's editorial and production values are consistently met

WHAT YOU'LL BRING TO SPECTRUM NEWS NECN
Required Qualifications
  • Experience: Experience as a senior or unit producer at a news station - 5+ years
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in journalism, graduate degree preferred
  • Technical skills: Demonstrated news judgment, with knowledge of current local news and newsmakers
  • Skills: Communicate effectively with all levels in the organization
  • Abilities: Ability to work on issues where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth knowledge of organizational objectives
  • Schedule: Ability to work different shifts or longer shifts due to "breaking news" and severe weather emergencies, ability to work weekends and holidays

The base pay for this position generally is between
$96,300.00 and $170,900.00. The actual compensation offered will carefully consider a wide range of factors, including your skills, qualifications, experience, and location. We comply with local wage minimums and also, certain positions are eligible for additional forms of other incentive-based compensation such as bonuses.
