Job Description
Join Takeda as a Senior Manager, Market Research, RDBU Commercial Analytics and Insights out of our Cambridge, MA office. Where you will be responsible for leading market research and competitive intelligence to support multiple franchises across the US Rare Disease Business Unit. This role involves understanding unique business challenges and translating them into actionable initiatives. The role acts as an internal consultant and a key problem-solving partner, identifying opportunities and delivering meaningful recommendations to drive organizational action and maximize commercial potential. As a trusted advisor to the brand team and senior leadership, the senior manager communicates requirements and methodologies, ensuring the execution of market research and competitive intelligence to enable effective, data-driven decision-making.
How you will contribute:

  • Accurately assess business issues faced by business stakeholders and develops appropriate market approach to address them.
  • Lead and manage market research projects independently to inform the brand strategy, including identification of market research needs, vendor selection, study design, execution and interpretation of market research studies.
  • Manage competitive intelligence (CI) monitoring, interprets findings, and provides insights and recommendations to the brand team and senior leadership. Coordinates CI through conference attendance, vendor management and desk research.
  • A strategic partner to the brand team, contributing to brand strategy and translating market research and competitive intelligence insights and data into actionable recommendations.
  • Proactively collaborates closely with the brand teams to generate a market research and competitive intelligence plan to meet brand needs and demonstrates the ability to modify and prioritize the plan based on evolving needs.
  • Explores innovative techniques to address business questions.
  • Creates proposed budgets for market research and competitive intelligence to assist franchises in financial planning.
  • Understands the overall market dynamics in which the RDBU brands compete.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations with actionable insights and recommendations to executive leadership.
  • Key contributor to Situational Analysis during brand planning by consolidating critical/relevant insights from yearly information-gathering activities
  • Build and pressure-test market research assumptions based on market research findings. Collaborates with analytics and forecasting team to incorporate both insights and analytics into actionable recommendations to the brand team.


Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree required; Advanced degree (MBA/PharmD) preferred.
  • 6+ years of advanced analytics, marketing, market research, commercial operations, management consulting or related functional experience within the bio-pharmaceutical industry required.
  • Pharmaceutical/Biotech or relevant consulting experience required.
  • Extensive knowledge and application of principles, methodologies, concepts, practices, and standards surrounding market research.
  • Expertly navigates and interprets market trends and competitor insights, applying advanced analytical skills.
  • Strong quantitative analysis skills and experience partnering with advanced analytics professionals.
  • Skilled in creating persuasive presentations, influencing cross functional teams and collaborating on strategic decisions.
  • Proficient in project planning and management skills.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

  • Travel Requirement up to 20% travel domestically

U.S. Base Salary Range:
$137,000.00 - $215,270.00
The estimated salary range reflects an anticipated range for this position. The actual base salary offered may depend on a variety of factors, including the qualifications of the individual applicant for the position, years of relevant experience, specific and unique skills, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, and the location in which the applicant lives and/or from which they will be performing the job. The actual base salary offered will be in accordance with state or local minimum wage requirements for the job location.
U.S. based employees may be eligible for short-term and/ or long-term incentives. U.S. based employees may be eligible to participate in medical, dental, vision insurance, a 401(k) plan and company match, short-term and long-term disability coverage, basic life insurance, a tuition reimbursement program, paid volunteer time off, company holidays, and well-being benefits, among others. U.S. based employees are also eligible to receive, per calendar year, up to 80 hours of sick time, and new hires are eligible to accrue up to 120 hours of paid vacation.
