The Senior Manager – Investment Operations is a key role within the ERAC’s Investment Operations & Treasury organization and reports to the ERAC Head of Treasury. The role is responsible for providing strategic and operational leadership of company cash/liquidity, short-term investments, and reinsurance trust oversight. This role will engage with key business leaders including CIO, CFO and Head of Investment Operations and partner with key internal/external stakeholders to support investment operations as well as drive key strategic initiatives.

The ERAC Investment Ops & Treasury organization supports the investment management lifecycle for the ~$50B asset portfolio including but not limited to asset strategy implementation, cash/liquidity management, trust management, long range investment forecasting and asset reconciliations.Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

  • Lead cash/liquidity management by monitoring daily cash balances, developing/maintaining cash forecasts, directing funding strategies and overseeing short-term cash investments. Lead initiatives to automate and streamline cash management processes
  • Oversee reinsurance trust portfolios (~$30B) and ensure fulfilment of trust obligations. Manage, instruct, and support asset-related operational activities for trusts (incl. asset movements, settlements, documentation etc.). Lead asset transition activities across investment portfolios and reinsurance trust structures. Ensure compliance with internal guidelines and external/regulatory requirements; escalate issues as needed
  • Assist and oversee asset reconciliations across custodians, investment managers and investment data/risk analytics platforms
  • Manage credit facilities and make recommendations based on cash forecast, cost assessment and use of funds. Advise on timing/duration of facility usage
  • Assist in managing investment expenses and related processes including forecasting, tracking and accruals
  • Implement/manage real-time reporting and dashboards across workstreams to provide accurate and actionable information for decision-making, enable compliance with risk parameters and ensure internal and external reporting
  • Collaborate with key internal (incl. broader Investments team, Accounting, Finance & Risk) and external (incl. bank custodians, investment managers, ceding insurance companies) stakeholders to drive optimal processes as well as lead transformation and simplification initiatives

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, economics, accounting, mathematics or related field
  • 5+ years of relevant experience; 2+ years of experience in financial services/investment operations focused roles preferred
  • Experience in the insurance industry, asset management, investment analytics, financial systems a plus
  • Familiarity with investment management systems such as Blackrock Aladdin, Clearwater Analytics etc.
  • Advanced technical skills, including proficiency working with large data sets and using Microsoft Office Suite

Desired Characteristics

  • Advanced degree (Master’s) and/or CFA preferred
  • Strong organizational and presentation skills.
  • Ability to lead large scale initiatives and projects with multiple executive stakeholders
  • Highly collaborative person, comfortable with conflict and debate normally associated with change

The base pay range for this position is $130,000-$170,000. The specific pay offered may be influenced by a variety of factors, including the candidate’s experience, education, and skill set. This position is also eligible for an annual discretionary bonus based on a percentage of your base salary. This posting is expected to close on June 6th.
