Job DescriptionWho we are looking forThe Senior Manager, Internal Communications serves as a strategic business partner to the company’s four business units, shaping and delivering internal communications that engage, inform, and inspire employees while enabling business priorities and transformation. This role works closely with business unit leadership, HR, and the enterprise Internal Communications team to translate strategy into clear, consistent, and employee‑centered communications.
Reporting to the Senior Director of Internal Communications and partnering closely with BU HR Business Partners and Chiefs of Staff, this leader plays a critical role in driving alignment across the business units, strengthening change leadership, and ensuring a cohesive employee experience while respecting the unique needs of each business.
What you will be responsible forBusiness Unit Communications Partnership
- Serve as the primary internal communications partner for assigned business units, acting as a trusted advisor to BU leaders, Chiefs of Staff, and HR business partners.
- Develop and execute BU-specific internal communications strategies aligned to enterprise priorities, business goals, and operating plans.
- Translate complex strategies, priorities, and operating model and organizational changes, into clear, relevant, and engaging communications for employees.
Change & Transformation Communications
- Lead change communications for major BU initiatives, including organizational changes, operating model shifts, M&A integrations, and cross‑company transformations.
- Partner with Legal, HR, and Internal Communications to ensure communications are accurate, timely, and risk aware.
- Develop messaging frameworks, leader talking points, and rollout plans that enable leaders to communicate change with clarity and confidence.
Executive & Leader Communications
- Counsel senior leaders on effective internal communications approaches, including town halls, all‑employee meetings, written messages, and leadership forums.
- Draft and refine executive communications such as emails, presentations, scripts, and FAQs, ensuring consistency with the company’s voice and values.
Enterprise Alignment & Collaboration
- Partner closely with the broader Internal Communications team to ensure BU communications align with enterprise strategy, standards, and channels.
- Contribute to the evolution of internal communications governance, frameworks, and best practices to support scale and consistency.
- Support major enterprise-wide moments such as All‑Employee Meetings, values initiatives, and priority company events when needed.
Measurement & Continuous Improvement
- Use engagement data, feedback, and employee insights to assess communication effectiveness and continuously improve strategies and tactics.
- Partner with stakeholders to refine messaging, channels, and cadence based on what resonates with employees.
- 10+ years of experience in internal or employee communications, preferably in a global, matrixed, or multi‑business organization.
- Proven experience partnering with senior leaders and supporting business‑critical change initiatives.
- Exceptional writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to translate complex topics into clear, engaging messages.
- Strong strategic thinking, stakeholder management, and project leadership skills.
- Comfortable operating in fast‑paced, ambiguous environments with multiple priorities and audiences.
- Business unit leaders view Internal Communications as a trusted advisor and strategic partner.
- Employees understand business priorities, feel informed during change, and see clear connections between enterprise strategy and their work.
- Communications across the four business units are aligned, consistent, and employee‑centric—without feeling one‑size‑fits‑all.
