The Role

As a Senior Manager, Strategy & Planning, you will be part of the team that tackles overall Fidelity’s most pressing business challenges. This position will: own and deliver discreet analyses and research, contribute to breakdown and synthesis of problems, coordinate stakeholders and offer your perspectives as input into a broader business conversation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Own the preparation for discreet strategy topics for the senior Executive Team (e.g., Exec Offsite) including prep and follow-up as required
  • Support the refresh of the Enterprise Strategy placemat with a focus on reviewing our portfolio of opportunistic bets and provide other ad hoc requests on the Planning Cycle
  • Work across the Corp Services leaders to scope, frame, plan, and if needed support the execution of cross Corp Services efforts
  • Provide strategic project management for projects from the CFO
  • Support strategic initiatives that come out of the finance organization either through strategic project management or strategy development and execution
  • Remain connected to key finance and leadership cadences (e.g., EIC, SIC, SMT) and be able to advice on how work should evolve based on these cadences
The Expertise and Skills You Have
  • You hold an MBA, or equivalent business, strategy or analytical background
  • You have 4-7 years of work experience, including pre-MBA experience; consulting experience is strongly preferred
  • Strong quantitative, analytical, and conceptual problem-solving skills combined with outstanding business insight
  • Ability to learn new subject matter and communicate complex ideas about a new topic effectively within days
  • Ability to challenge ideas, influence and change mindsets
  • Ability to form strong and trusted relationships with business partners at all levels
  • Collaborating with different levels of management across functions to support the enterprise planning process and execution of our top strategic priorities
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with ambiguity and thrives in fluid and matrixed environment
  • Strong research & analytical skills, including the ability to synthesize findings and develop practical, impactful recommendations
  • Strong Excel and PowerPoint skills
  • Capable of communicating with and influencing Fidelity leadership through relationship-building and high-quality presentations
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to clearly scope projects and maintain momentum with unclear and shifting goals

The Team

The Enterprise Strategy and Planning team is a team that works across Fidelity to deliver the full potential on cross-business initiatives and helps to provide the strategic direction for the annual planning cycle. The Enterprise Strategy team works closely with FCAT, Fidelity Consulting, and all the BU strategy teams; in addition, it is embedded in the Corporate Finance organization to create a more integrated planning process.
