Roblox is seeking a senior communicator to manage consumer and corporate communications for the platform across priority EMEA markets. 

The right candidate should be confident in educating and influencing editorial media, have experience of working in a fast-paced communications environment, possess a strong understanding of the media and cultural landscape across a number of EMEA markets, and have a track record of developing strategic initiatives that delivered impactful media coverage results. Knowledge and passion for gaming and immersive 3D technology is preferred.

This role will execute localized communications campaigns in the EMEA, with a focus on UK, Germany and other EMEA markets, aimed at influencing a wide variety of audiences - from Gen Z consumers, to the local creator/developer community, to parents - showcasing the breadth of user-generated games and virtual experiences on Roblox, the role of developers & creators in the growing virtual economy on the platform, and the company’s commitment to safety and civility. 

The chosen candidate will have managed agency partners and worked for a global company.  They will work in collaboration with communication agency partners and the in-house Roblox communications team, including colleagues based in Europe and the U.S. 

The role will report to the Senior Director of International Communications. Candidates must be based in London, Brussels or the Netherlands. 

You Will:

As a member of the Communications team, you will:

  • Design and execute compelling communications campaigns in EMEA markets in support of business objectives
  • Manage local market execution of global communications campaigns and launches in key markets 
  • Work in tandem with a range of business functions to support their communications objectives in the EMEA - including, but not exclusive to, the company’s Marcomms, Public Policy, Civility, Brand Partnerships and Developer Relations functions
  • Host briefings with top tier reporters to educate them about the platform
  • Manage executive communications with EMEA media, including securing interview opportunities and briefing company spokespeople
  • Manage Roblox’s inbound press office function in the EMEA and be the first point of contact for journalists in the region
  • Draft media materials for use across EMEA markets, including press releases, blogs, FAQs, and key message documents
  • Bring fresh ideas and a creative approach to deliver measurable, attributable results

You Have: 

  • 8+ years of experience (preferably at a global public company in the consumer tech, entertainment, media or gaming space) in consumer and/or corporate communications 
  • Fluent language skills in English (required) and German (a plus)
  • Proven skill and passion for successfully delivering high-impact placements and features (strong existing relationships with top tier technology and/or consumer lifestyle journalists a plus)
  • Proven success at developing impactful proactive PR campaigns (specifically placing tech innovation-focused stories a plus)
  • Experience supporting a variety of in-house business functions and serving their communications needs 
  • Excellent written and communication skills, with the confidence to produce content for different markets, channels and media
  • Proven experience handling and responding to inbound press enquiries in a fast-paced environment
  • Proven success at effectively managing multiple communication agencies in an in-house communications role

Roles that are based in an office are onsite Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, with optional presence on Monday and Friday (unless otherwise noted).
