As part of the Customer Strategy & Growth team, this person partners closely with marketing, finance, and cross-functional business teams to translate strategy into clear business cases and executable plans. • Strategic Opportunity Evaluation: Identify and evaluate opportunities including insourcing capabilities, new partnerships, and customer experience innovations. Partner with business teams to assess customer impact, strategic fit, financial value, and execution feasibility
  • Financial & Business Case Leadership: Act as a liaison to Finance partners to develop, refine, and socialize financial analyses and business cases. Translate complex strategies into clear financial and strategic narratives to support prioritization and investment decisions
  • Problem Solving & Growth Enablement: Apply structured, data-driven approaches to ambiguous customer and growth challenges
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Execution: Build strong relationships across a matrixed organization; influence without authority and navigate tradeoffs effectively. Lead high-impact initiatives with a high degree of autonomy, managing timelines, stakeholders, and outcomes

  • Marketing and customer strategy investments are focused, aligned, and outcome-driven
  • Cross-functional teams move faster with greater clarity and shared accountability

So it’s no surprise that the city consistently ranks among the greatest startup ecosystems in the world.

Key Facts About Boston Tech

  • Number of Tech Workers: 269,000; 9.4% of overall workforce (2024 CompTIA survey)
  • Major Tech Employers: Thermo Fisher Scientific, Toast, Klaviyo, HubSpot, DraftKings
  • Key Industries: Artificial intelligence, biotechnology, robotics, software, aerospace
  • Funding Landscape: $15.7 billion in venture capital funding in 2024 (Pitchbook)
  • Notable Investors: Summit Partners, Volition Capital, Bain Capital Ventures, MassVentures, Highland Capital Partners
  • Research Centers and Universities: MIT, Harvard University, Boston College, Tufts University, Boston University, Northeastern University, Smithsonian Astrophysical Observatory, National Bureau of Economic Research, Broad Institute, Lowell Center for Space Science & Technology, National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories
