We are seeking to strengthen our in-country finance leadership team and are opening a fantastic opportunity for a seasoned finance professional. This professional will lead a teams of finance professionals and manage for several key entities, the in-country Controlling activities for CFS, the Netherlands as Senior Manager Entity Controlling CFS, the Netherlands.

Based in Hoofddorp and/or Zwolle

The in-country CFS team Benelux supports 25+ entities, located in several countries; thereof the CFS team the Netherlands supports 15+ entities, involved in Marketing & Sales, International Distribution, in Manufacturing and in Holding activities.

The CFS team assures that accounting records for all entities in scope are prepared and maintained in accordance with the organization’s accounting policies, chart of accounts and related accounting principles and practices; prescribes methods of providing accounting data for various reports and statements; collaborates with Shared Service organization management, particularly HUB management, and with Division Finance management to develop schedules, procedures, and systems to enable the timely and informative accumulation, adjustment, and reporting of financial data. In addition, the CFS Benelux team supports Abbott’s (international) operations in Budgeting and Financial Planning, in Customer Service and Order Management and in Customs and Trade Compliance activities.

Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Leads in-country CFS Controlling team and participates in Abbott’s CFS Benelux Leadership Team.

  • Sets the strategy that translates into actionable, aligned team goals, takes initiative, gathers data, and develops scenario plans, takes appropriate risks, and drives innovation, develops, inspires, rewards and shares talent and manages performance, acts as needed and delivers results

  • Manages and ensures the integrity of the monthly, quarterly, and annual financials (e.g., regulatory, compliance, and establishes and maintains an adequate internal control environment) for entities in scope 

  • Manages control processes to ensure adequate financial reporting

  • Builds, maintains and improves financial processes for entities in scope 

  • Be the primary contact and responsible for managing internal and external audits in close cooperation with Shared Service organization team members, colleagues in Abbott’s CFS Benelux Leadership Team, as well with Division Finance team members.

  • People Manager. Manages a team and develops team-members further in financial areas, internal control, and leadership.

  • Change Leader.

  • Be the financial partner for business decisions and give accurate and timely analysis and advice

  • Responsible for the financial reporting of the entities in scope, including periodical review of the figures in detail

  • Ad-hoc analysis and supporting different requests from multiple stakeholders.

Knowledge:

  • Seasoned professional. Broad and/or deep knowledge in the field of expertise requiring a command of different practices and precedents and/or sophisticated concepts and principles. This knowledge is acquired through very deep and/or broad experience typically combined with an academic/professional qualification. Creative and innovative thinking

  • University degree in accounting, business economics or similar, CPA preferred

  • 10-15+ years of experience in relevant similar financial roles in different international environments is of the essence

  • Relevant experience, or clear potential, in managing sizeable (professional) teams

  • Proven strong experience in internal controls, SOX, and financial compliance

  • Technical accounting expertise as demonstrated by experience with US GAAP and local statutory reporting

  • Demonstrated experience with linking Finance and IT

  • Fluent in English.
