Job Summary:

Voyager Therapeutics is seeking an experienced contracts and legal operations Senior Manager to join our Legal Team.  The Senior Manager, Contracts and Legal Operations is responsible for managing the contracting process at Voyager, from contract initiation to drafting/negotiation to management of the contracts database, ensuring compliance, alignment with business needs, and operational excellence. In addition, the role will partner closely with stakeholders across the organization to support Legal Team operations, including department initiatives, such as trainings, template management, and process optimization, and corporate governance matters.  We’re ideally looking for someone who has significant prior experience with contracting, a strong understanding of contract management systems and experience with process optimization and previously supported Legal team operations at a public company.  The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of corporate law with excellent organizational skills to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment. 

Position Specific Responsibilities:

Contracts Management

  • Serve as primary contact in the management of the Company’s contracting process and contract management system operations, including intake, initial drafting/negotiation, archiving, and tracking contractual obligations.
  • Identify and implement improvements to contracting process workflows and contracts management system to enhance efficiency, compliance, and visibility.
  • Draft, negotiate, interpret, and manage a wide variety of contracts across functions and programs, including with research partners, academic institutions, collaborators, clinical research organizations, vendors and consultants.
  • Advise internal stakeholders on contractual rights and obligations, as needed, and facilitate contract renewal process.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders with respect to contract requests in a manner that efficiently advances corporate goals and promotes successful contract review and execution and limits delays.
  • Maintain Legal Team templates and perform periodic updates with input from relevant stakeholders.
  • Monitor and ensure compliance with contractual obligations, including under existing license and collaboration agreements.

Legal Team Operations

  • Serve as a Legal team resource and drive departmental initiatives, including initiatives related to department templates, policies, procedures, document retention, trainings, and other resources and workstreams.
  • Maintain and optimize Legal team resources, including SharePoint site, and support Finance and Business Development with virtual data room.
  • Assist with preparation and management of  Board- and shareholder-related  materials, including maintaining Diligent board management system..
  • Assist with preparation and filing of corporate documents and support management of Corporate Record Book other corporate governance and public company matters.
  • Foster strong relationships within Legal Team and across the organization.

Specialized Knowledge & Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in finance, law, business administration, or a similar discipline; Paralegal certificate preferred.
  • 8+ years in roles of increasing responsibility driving contracts management and legal operations.
  • Previous life sciences experience required.
  • Excellent contract drafting and negotiation skills.
  • High attention to detail is essential, combined with a positive, partnership-oriented approach.
  • Previous experience with contract management systems or software; Conga a plus.
  • Ability to multi-task and work independently, partnering with the organization.

The anticipated salary range for candidates for this role will be $144,000 - 190,000.  The final salary offered will depend on several factors, which may include, but is not limited to relevant years of experience, educational background, industry knowledge, technical skills and other factors that may prove relevant during the interview process.
