The Senior Manager, Commercial Excellence is a newly created strategic and hands-on role responsible for designing, delivering, and continuously improving sales training programs that equip Saluda Medical’s field sales organization with the commercial expertise needed to succeed. Reporting directly to the Head of Training, this individual will serve as a key partner to Sales Leadership and Marketing to ensure field teams are fully prepared to represent Saluda’s innovative neurostimulation technology with confidence and credibility. This role will directly impact our commercial scale and success.

Key Responsibilities:

Training Strategy & Program Development

  • Design and execute a comprehensive field sales training curriculum covering selling skills and sales process.
  • Develop onboarding programs for new sales hires that accelerate time-to-productivity and ensure consistent commercial standards.
  • Build ongoing competency development programs, including advanced selling education and mentorship frameworks.
  • Partner strategically with Sales Leadership across US and international markets.
  • Coach sales leaders and field representatives on messaging and selected selling models.
  • Partner with the Head of Training to align training strategy with commercial goals and organizational priorities.

Field Execution & Facilitation

  • Facilitate live, virtual, and blended learning sessions for sales representatives.
  • Travel to the field to deliver in-person training, conduct ride-alongs, and provide real-time coaching and reinforcement.
  • Support field teams during product launches, territory expansions, and key account development.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Collaborate closely with Sales Leadership, Marketing, and Regulatory to ensure training content is accurate, compliant, and commercially relevant.
  • Translate complex clinical and technical information into compelling, field-ready messaging and tools.
  • Drive influence on global field sales messaging.
  • Partner with Marketing to ensure alignment between promotional messaging and field training content.

Measurement & Continuous Improvement

  • Establish KPIs to measure training effectiveness, knowledge retention, and impact on sales performance.
  • Gather ongoing feedback from field teams and leadership to iterate and improve program content and delivery.
  • Leverage LMS platforms and digital tools to create scalable, trackable training experiences.

Key Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Life Sciences, Business, Education, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Minimum 10 years of experience in medical device sales, clinical support, or sales training — preferably in neuromodulation, spine, or a related implantable device category.
  • Strong understanding of spinal cord stimulation, pain management, or neuromodulation therapy.
  • Exceptional facilitation, presentation, and communication skills with the ability to engage diverse audiences.
  • Proven ability to collaborate cross-functionally and influence without direct authority.
  • Proficiency with LMS platforms, digital content tools, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% of the time.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior experience in a high-growth medical device startup or scale-up environment.
  • Background as a top-performing field sales representative prior to moving into training.
  • Familiarity with Saluda Medical’s Evoke® closed-loop SCS platform or similar neurostimulation technologies.
  • Certification in instructional design, adult learning theory, or professional coaching.
  • Demonstrated experience developing and delivering sales training programs in a regulated medical device environment.
  • Prior experience in Training, Marketing, or other cross-functional roles.
  • Prior leadership experience.
