Intellia is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Manager, Commercial Accounting to join our Accounting team. Reporting to the Senior Director, Financial Reporting and Technical Accounting, the successful candidate will play a critical role in supporting our transition to a commercial organization through commercial readiness activities such as establishing order-to-cash and revenue recognition processes, systems and internal controls in compliance with regulatory requirements. Beyond our initial launch, this role will be responsible for maturing the order-to-cash infrastructure, scaling gross-to-net (GTN) operations, and evolving the control environment to drive efficiency to support anticipated business growth. This highly visible and newly created role requires exceptional attention to detail, strong accounting and operational industry experience, and the ability to manage processes critical for a transitioning biotech (from R&D to commercial). Relevant experience in a commercial public company environment within the biotechnology / life sciences industry is essential.
Duties/Responsibilities
- Participate in and lead certain pre-launch commercial readiness initiatives.
- Establish and maintain robust accounting and operating procedures and internal control environment over the revenue cycle to ensure compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) Section 404.
- Partner with internal stakeholders and third-party logistics (3PL) providers, specialty distributors (SDs), and specialty pharmacies (SPs) to design and implement order-to-cash processes and systems to support order-to-cash transactional reporting, ensuring seamless integration between ERP system and logistics providers.
- Lead implementation and ongoing management of government pricing / gross-to-net (GTN) system to support GTN accounting, reporting and compliance.
- Build and manage complex GTN models to estimate deductions, including statutory rebates (Medicaid, 340B) and value-based arrangements.
- Oversee the processing of customer receipts, ensuring accurate application of payments and manage payment processing for distribution channel partners, validating service fees and prompt-pay discounts.
- Lead the monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial close for commercial revenue, including journal entries, account reconciliations and disclosures for AR, deferred revenue, and rebate accruals.
- Support internal and external auditors in their annual audit, quarterly review, and SOX review procedures
- Perform flux analysis and provide insights on revenue trends, variances, and GTN adjustments for senior leadership.
- Cross-functional collaboration with various commercial, market access, legal, and FP&A stakeholders on contracts, pricing, revenue recognition, sales and rebate forecasting.
- Identify opportunities to continuously improve processes in order to maximize efficiency and operational excellence.
Requirements
Skills/Abilities
- Strong technical accounting background and understanding of U.S. GAAP.
- Detail-oriented, organized, self-motivated with a commitment to high standards for accuracy and integrity.
- Strong work ethic and ability to manage competing deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- Intellectual curiosity and analytical skills with the ability to problem solve with minimal oversight.
- Advanced knowledge of the U.S. healthcare reimbursement and distribution-channel landscape within the biotechnology industry.
- Strong interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills to interact across all levels of the organization.
- Ability to identify and implement improvement opportunities and inspires other team members to do the same; works towards goal achievement and continuous improvement
Education / Certifications
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) preferred.
- Experience at a publicly-traded commercial company within the biotechnology / life sciences industry is required.
Experience
- At least 6-8 years of experience, with a heavy emphasis on the biotechnology / life sciences industry.

The base salary for this position is expected to range between $143,300.00 - $175,300.00 USD per year.The salary offered is determined based on a range of factors including, but not limited to, relevant education and training, overall related experience, specialized, rare or in-demand skill sets, internal comparators and other business needs. Upon joining Intellia, your salary will be reviewed periodically and additional factors such as time in role and performance will be considered. Intellia may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.
Additional compensation includes a performance-based annual cash bonus, a new hire equity grant, and eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards the value of which are determined annually at the Company’s discretion.
