Summary:
Under the general direction of the Director, Data Strategies & Management, will be responsible for providing direction and supervision to data governance and data quality functional areas as it relates to bioinformatics data sources. This will include, but not limited to, establishment of data governance framework, creation of policies and procedures for managing biomarker data assets, implementation of data quality strategy. The Senior Manager, Data Management, will work collaboratively with team members to provide expert consulting knowledge regarding the quality of base level data, run analytics to identify potential improvements in data quality, and coordinate data management efforts to govern biomarker data assets. This individual will be required to act as an internal liaison between the Analytics team, data source partners, and Data Ops to ensure successful completion of collaborative projects.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Responsible for developing and ensuring that data management policies and procedures are documented and appropriate controls are in place
  • Implements Biomarker data quality strategy and monitoring processes/procedures developed by the Data Integrity team to ensure the quality of analytic solutions
  • Supports data governance initiatives to ensure incorporation and implementation of data management policies and procedures
  • Integrate activities with Data Ops to ensure appropriate alignment in project deliverables and timelines based on available resources
  • Work collaboratively with Product Development and Data Ops to deliver the highest quality and most accurate information for analytic purposes
  • Responsible for consistent application of business rules across different analytics solutions
  • Allocates human resources as appropriate to ensure data quality needs are met
  • Focuses on meeting expectations and requirements of internal and external customers and establish/maintain effective relationships with customers while gaining their trust and respect
  • Communicates to management on project status and quality issues
  • Works with other analytics teams to identify and resolve data related questions and problems
  • Willingness to travel to meet objectives
  • Performs related duties as assigned

  • Requires some training in fields such as a medical specialty, including nursing, pharmacy, or a specific discipline which is generally obtained through completion of a four-year Bachelor's Degree program, BA, BS, or minimum 6 years of experience in a related field, with demonstrated excellent organizational skills. Having PMO (Project Management) experience is a plus
  • Experience managing subordinates with standard training and mentorship is required
  • 1.BA/BS degree in relevant field required
  • 2.5+ years demonstrated data management skills and use of multiple programming tools (SAS, SQL, Access, Excel)
  • At least 5 years of developing and implementing standard data management processes and procedures
  • Strong leadership skills, ability to manage resources both locally and remotely
  • Experience with proactive project management, strategic thinking, and ability to provide valued-added insight through data evaluation and monitoring
  • Demonstrated ability to manage projects through cross-functional teams in a collaborative manner
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational skills; detail oriented and solution focused
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines
  • Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing
  • Ability to resolve issues effectively and efficiently
  • Proficiency with PM tools such as Microsoft Project, Visio, Excel

Salary Range*
$100,700 - 155,100
*This Salary Range reflects a National Average for this job. The actual range may vary based on your locale. Ranges in Colorado/California/Washington/New York/Hawaii/Vermont/Minnesota/Massachusetts/Illinois State-specific locations may be up to 10% lower than the minimum salary range, and 12% higher than the maximum salary range.
