In this role, you will:
- Lead moderately complex initiatives and deliverables within technical domain environments
- Contribute to large scale planning of strategies
- Design, code, test, debug, and document for projects and programs associated with technology domain, including upgrades and deployments
- Review moderately complex technical challenges that require an in-depth evaluation of technologies and procedures
- Resolve moderately complex issues and lead a team to meet existing client needs or potential new clients needs while leveraging solid understanding of the function, policies, procedures, or compliance requirements
- Collaborate and consult with peers, colleagues, and mid-level managers to resolve technical challenges and achieve goals
- Lead projects and act as an escalation point, provide guidance and direction to less experienced staff
- 4+ years of Software Engineering experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education
- 3+ years of strong Mainframe and COBOL and CICS development skills
- 3+ years of experience with ENDEVOR version control software
- 3+ years of experience with MQ and knowledge about Kafka messaging
- 3+ years of experience with Agile development methodologies such as Kanban and SCRUM
- Expertise with JCL, NDM and IBM Utilities
- Experience with z/OS Connect, APIs and Webservice connections to interact between Mainframe and Non-Mainframe platforms.
- Ability to work effectively, as well as independently, in a team environment
- Ability to work in a fast-paced deadline driven environment
- Knowledge and understanding of SDLC (System Development Life Cycle) methodologies, including static/dynamic testing
- Strong and broad technical background in system & test design, defect remediation, understanding feature / stories, creating functional and non-functional requirements, coordinate testing exercises with external dependencies and upper environments
- Ability to resolve complex problems and complete complex coding assignments
- Position offers a hybrid work schedule
