About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and strategic Senior Legal Counsel to join our Legal team. The ideal candidate will provide expert legal advice to the business, ensure compliance with relevant laws and regulations, manage legal risk, and support corporate initiatives. This role requires strong negotiation, communication, and analytical skills with a proven ability to lead complex legal matters in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide legal guidance across a broad range of corporate and commercial issues.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex contracts, including vendor agreements, licensing, employment, NDAs, partnership agreements, and service contracts.
- Advise on certain compliance, and regulatory matters.
- Partner with internal stakeholders (HR, Finance, Procurement, Product, etc.) to identify and mitigate legal risks.
- Develop and implement legal policies, templates, and best practices.
- Stay current on laws and regulations that impact the business.
- Provide training to staff on relevant legal issues and compliance matters.
Qualifications:
- Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
- Active license to practice law in [state/country], in good standing.
- Minimum [7-10] years of relevant legal experience, with a mix of law firm and in-house counsel preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to manage and resolve complex legal issues independently.
- Strong contract drafting and negotiation skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work cross-functionally and influence decision-making.
- Experience in Information Services or Enterprise SaaS huge plus
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous work in a high-growth or private-equity backed company.
- Familiarity with data privacy laws (e.g., GDPR, CCPA) and ESG-related legal frameworks.
