As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorganChase within Consumer and Community Banking's (CCB) API Marketplace, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Job responsibilities
  • Software Development: Design, develop, and troubleshoot software solutions, employing innovative approaches to address technical challenges.
  • Code Quality: Write secure, high-quality production code, often navigating ambiguous requirements.
  • User Interface Development: Create and maintain scalable, high-performance user interfaces for web applications using modern JavaScript frameworks, particularly React.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with UX/UI designers to translate design concepts into interactive and responsive interfaces, ensuring technical feasibility and optimizing applications for speed and scalability.
  • Mentorship: Mentor and coach junior developers, actively participating in code reviews to foster growth and knowledge sharing.
  • Decision Influence: Drive decisions impacting product design, application functionality, and technical operations.
  • Subject Matter Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert in one or more technical areas, contributing to firmwide frameworks and best practices in the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Technology Advocacy: Influence peers and project stakeholders to adopt leading-edge technologies.
  • Team Culture: Promote a culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect within the team.

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Proficiency in TypeScript and React.
  • Strong understanding of HTML5, CSS3, and responsive design principles.
  • Advanced in one or more programming language(s) - with Java 8+ distributed application development, REST, micro services, Spring Boot
  • Experience with cloud native applications development (e.g. AWS, GCP, private cloud, etc.) is required
  • Experience with design systems and version control systems (e.g., Git).
  • Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and ensuring operational stability.
  • Proficient in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
  • Advanced knowledge of agile methodologies, including CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
  • Expertise in automation and continuous delivery methods.
  • In-depth knowledge of software applications and technical processes, with specialization in areas such as cloud computing, artificial intelligence, or machine learning.
  • Ability to independently tackle design and functionality challenges with minimal oversight.
  • Practical experience with cloud-native technologies.
  • Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills
  • Familiarity with state management libraries (e.g., Zustand, Redux, Context API).
  • Experience with frameworks like React Query.
  • Knowledge of front-end build tools and package managers (e.g., Webpack, Babel, npm/yarn).
  • Experience with testing frameworks and tools (e.g., Jest, Enzyme).
  • Familiarity with performance optimization techniques and tools.
  • Experience with build automation using Maven
  • Experience configuring continuous Integration in Jenkins
