About the Role

At Built, we’re not just building the future of construction finance — we’re building a smarter, more connected workplace for the people behind it. As a Senior IT Engineer, you’ll be one of the architects of that future.

You’ll design, automate, and scale the systems that power Built’s internal operations. From building seamless integrations between our SaaS platforms to hardening identity and device management infrastructure, this role is for someone who loves to build, break, and rebuild things better.

This is not your average “keep the lights on” IT role — it’s a high-impact engineering position for a creative problem-solver who wants to shape how modern IT is done in a fast-growing SaaS company.

What You’ll DoEngineer Smarter Systems
  • Design and build automations across Built’s IT ecosystem using Okta Workflows, Atlassian Automation, and API integrations.

  • Connect systems across identity, HR, procurement, and collaboration platforms to eliminate manual steps and reduce toil.

  • Create resilient, auditable, and scalable workflows that make IT operations faster and smarter.

  • Continuously identify new automation opportunities — if it can be automated, you’ll find a way.

Own and Evolve Core IT Infrastructure
  • Act as the go-to expert for complex identity, SaaS, endpoint, and networking challenges.

  • Administer and optimize systems like Google Workspace, Slack, Zoom, Jira, Intune, and Kandji.

  • Partner with the IAM Engineer to evolve our Okta infrastructure and expand SCIM coverage.

  • Improve zero-touch deployment, compliance enforcement, and remote access with tools like Kandji, Intune, and Twingate.

  • Evaluate and implement new SaaS platforms that make the business stronger, safer, and more efficient.

Collaborate Across the Organization
  • Work closely with Security, Finance, HR, and Compliance to keep IT practices secure, auditable, and compliant.

  • Partner with Procurement (via Zip) and vendors to manage renewals, licensing, and integrations.

  • Refine onboarding, offboarding, and access lifecycle processes to deliver frictionless user experiences.

  • Contribute to knowledge sharing through clear Confluence documentation and IT service improvements in Jira Service Management.

Lead Projects and Drive Impact
  • Take ownership of key infrastructure projects from concept to deployment.

  • Bring structure, automation, and scalability to growing systems.

  • Act as a mentor and technical resource for IT Support, helping raise the team’s overall technical bar.

  • Help define what “world-class IT” looks like at Built — and then go build it.

You’ll Thrive Here If You…
  • Think in systems and can see how everything connects — people, tools, and data.

  • Love automation and get a thrill out of replacing manual work with elegant workflows.

  • Balance long-term architectural thinking with hands-on technical execution.

  • Enjoy tackling complex identity, device management, and SaaS integration challenges.

  • Have a builder’s mindset — you measure success by what you’ve made simpler, faster, and smarter.

  • Are low-ego, collaborative, and happy to jump between strategic planning and tactical troubleshooting.

What You Bring
  • 3+ years of experience in IT Engineering, Systems Administration, or Infrastructure roles in a modern, cloud-first environment.

  • Deep experience with Okta, Okta Workflows, and SaaS lifecycle automation.

  • Strong understanding of SSO, SCIM, and provisioning/deprovisioning processes.

  • Experience managing macOS (via Kandji) and Windows (via Intune) environments.

  • Familiarity with networking fundamentals (VPNs, DNS, Wi-Fi) and tools like Twingate or Meraki.

  • Experience with Jira Service Management, Atlassian Automation, and Confluence.

  • Bonus points for scripting or coding experience (Python, PowerShell, Bash) and automation through APIs.

Why You’ll Love Working on IT at Built
  • A modern, cloud-first IT environment built around Okta, Kandji, Atlassian, Twingate, and Google Workspace.

  • A team that experiments, innovates, and automates — we don’t just maintain systems; we improve them.

  • Real opportunities to design infrastructure and build automations that scale with a growing company.

  • An environment that values curiosity, ownership, and creativity over red tape.

  • Smart teammates, modern tools, and the autonomy to do your best work — plus, we promise fewer printer tickets.
