About the role.

The Risk Management and Digital Technology teams within the technology organization manage all the IT operations activities for the Loss Control System (Risk Management) and the Member Portal and Member App (Digital).

As a Senior Business Systems Analyst at PURE Insurance, you will play a key role in ensuring operational objectives are met by assisting in defining/scoping and managing the enhancements and friction items assigned to you. Those activities would include Enhancement/Friction Changes, Production Support, System Monitoring, Platform Upgrade Process, and Tech Debt. Additionally, you will work with the Prod Support team to continuously improve how defects are managed and resolved as well as act as a coach and mentor to the development teams.

What you’ll do.

As part of this role, you impact this organization by:

Managing scope and requirements working with business stakeholders and IT business analysts. This role will split their time with the Risk Management IT Team (75%) and the Digital IT Team (25%):

  • Collaborate with stakeholders (Head of Operations, Business Analysts and Business) to understand business needs, come up with solution options and understand business priority.
  • Own end-to-end delivery of the prioritized items, clarifying scope, and socialize release/delivery plans to ensure alignment.
  • Provide guidance to business system analysts on elaborating requirements, authoring stories, defining acceptance criteria and obtaining signoffs.
  • With the Risk Management Team specifically, you will also participate in platform configuration, QA activities, and platform upgrade activities.
  • Leverage agile methodologies (e.g., scrum, kanban) to coordinate development and testing efforts with the team as well as across teams by breaking down the effort into smaller, manageable work items.
  • Report out on progress/team capacity for both E&F and Pro support, outline dependencies/constraints, escalate issues as appropriate and make sure that projects meet deadlines. 
  • Analyze post go-live metrics to assess the success of Enhancements and Friction items, identify areas for improvement, and make recommendations for items.

What we’re looking for.

  • 3-5 years of property and casualty insurance work experience.
  • Good experience working on personal lines IT property and casualty insurance projects, with good understanding of insurance business processes and technologies (e.g., Risk Management, Loss Control 360 and/or Member Experience).
  • Good understanding of emerging technology space to improve customer satisfaction and reduce friction.
  • Knowledge of data concepts and how data gets transformed across platforms.
  • Needs only general instructions on work; can walk into a problem and analyze the underlying issue, and use judgment, creativity, and sound knowledge to develop and recommend solutions.
  • Can influence internal customers to balance their requirements against what’s most appropriate for a world-class organization and find the right compromise.
  • Strong consensus building skills and ability to convey technical concepts in a clear, understandable way. 

The base salary for this role can range from $75K - $90K, based on a full-time work schedule. An individual’s ultimate compensation will vary depending on job-related skills and experience, geographic location, alignment with market data, and equity among other team members with comparable experience.
