Are you a designer who loves thinking through complex challenges and finding creative solutions? Curriculum Associates is looking for an inspired and passionate Senior UI Designer to design accessible and engaging experiences for our groundbreaking i-Ready Reading products.
Working closely with the Senior Design Director and Art Director, a Senior UI Designer at Curriculum Associates is a strong analytical and conceptual thinker responsible for the UI and visual design for our i-Ready Middle School Literacy products. The right person will relish working closely with subject matter experts, product managers, and engineers to create Middle School Literacy lessons for K–8 students.

The impact you’ll have:
Evaluating wireframes and developing UI systems that support and enhance the user experience.
Building and owning visual design systems that support and inform our literacy products; such as creating style guides, templates, and UI component libraries.
Using iterative and collaborative design techniques to transform new concepts to products via storyboards/sketches/wireframes and prototypes.
Creating high-fidelity comps, developing effective documentation for varied audiences, and collaborating closely with Agile development teams to ensure proper implementation of the designs.
Ensuring all media is user-focused, highly engaging, and relevant to students of various abilities and varied demographics such as gender, ethnicity, and age.
Participating, as a contributor to an interdisciplinary team, in the definition, planning and prioritization of design work; proactively identifying and solving potential problems within assigned projects through the creative process.
What we’re looking for:
5+ years designing rich interactive and multi-media experiences.
A proven understanding of UI, UX, animation, evidence-based user-centered design, and user engagement principles.
A track record of creating innovative and thoughtful products with strong visuals that enhance a user’s experience. · Strong information design, typographic and communication design skills.
Strong knowledge of mobile and web interaction.
Ability to create micro-animations, and strong understanding of storyboarding and animation design principles.
Highly detail-oriented and developed organizational skills including the ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills and a love for collaboration.
A passion for exploration and consumption of all forms of media, apps and interactive software and the vision to apply them to K-8 education.
Proficient in design and prototyping software, including Adobe CC, Figma, and Mural, with a strong preference for familiarity with animation in Adobe After Effects.
A demonstrated record of previous achievement.
Not required, although we’d also love to see:
A passion for education.
Understanding of HTML5, iOS and other programming languages.
Animation experience.
Benefits and Pay Range:
Pay Range – This role’s range is $50.00 - $75.00/hour. The wage range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that Curriculum Associates considers in making compensation decisions based on our Compensation Philosophy. Actual base pay within that range will vary based upon several factors including, but not limited to, prior experience and relevant skill sets. At Curriculum Associates, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances for each case. The Company recognizes that minimum wage varies by location and will ensure all compensation decisions comply with applicable state and local laws.
Benefits – Temporary and per-diem employees who average at least 30 hours of work per week within the Company’s look-back period are eligible to enroll in medical coverage after 90 days of employment. Temporary and per-diem employees working more than 20 hours per week are eligible for twelve paid holidays. All temporary and per-diem employees are eligible for accrued sick time.
