About the Role
As our Integrations Engineer, you’ll help drive the technical design and execution of how Sully.ai connects with the healthcare ecosystem. You’ll be responsible for creating scalable, secure, and reliable integrations with a wide variety of EHR systems, from SMB tools to enterprise-grade platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Drive integrations development across FHIR, HL7, APIs, and RPA-based solutions.
Implement core infrastructure for connecting to EHRs (Epic, Cerner, Athena, DrChrono, eCW, Healthie, Practice Fusion, etc.).
Partner closely with co-founders to set integration strategy and make build vs. buy decisions.
Work directly with customers to gather requirements, define workflows, and deliver production-ready solutions.
Collaborate with AI/ML engineers to bridge integrations with applied GenAI systems, ensuring real-world deployment of intelligent automation.
Hard Requirements
Deep expertise in Node.js, TypeScript, and Python.
Proven experience integrating with multiple EHR systems across SMB and enterprise environments.
Hands-on work with FHIR, HL7, REST APIs, SOAP APIs, and hybrid/on-prem systems.
Experience building with RPA frameworks (Selenium or similar).
Background in customer-facing engineering roles, gathering requirements and translating them into technical deliverables.
Nice-to-Have
Previously founder/co-founder of a SaaS or AI company
Experience at a Series A or B AI or healthcare startup.
Familiarity with LLM-powered workflows, RAG, or agentic platforms.
Open-source contributions in healthcare integrations or standards.
Background in SRE or DevOps.
First-Month Focus
Audit current integrations, reliability, and security posture.
Finalize a 12-month integration roadmap and target list across EHRs and partner APIs.
Ship an SDK and sample app MVP for partner onboarding.
Success OKRs (90 Days)
Migrate 3 legacy integrations to the EHR Proxy.
Reach 100% automated test coverage for all integrations behind the EHR proxies.
Ensure reusability across all integration projects to deduce engineering rework by 50%.
