Position Summary

We are seeking a strategic, innovative, and hands-on Senior Instructional Designer to lead the design and development of impactful learning experiences across our dermatology portfolio. This individual will play a key role in translating business needs into scalable learning solutions that drive performance and accelerate readiness across our Commercial teams. The ideal candidate combines deep instructional design expertise with a passion for healthcare, learner engagement, and results-oriented training strategies.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end design, development, and implementation of learning solutions that build sales capabilities and support key business priorities, including new product launches and onboarding.

  • Partner cross-functionally with Sales, Marketing, Medical Affairs, Legal, Compliance, and HR to assess learning needs, define objectives, and ensure alignment to business goals.

  • Design and deliver a range of modern learning modalities (eLearning, virtual and in-person workshops, microlearning, simulations, and performance support tools) grounded in adult learning theory and instructional systems design (ADDIE/6Ds).

  • Conduct needs analysis to identify sales skill and knowledge gaps; translate findings into targeted learning strategies and curriculum recommendations.

  • Evaluate program effectiveness through assessments, field performance metrics, and learner feedback; report insights and drive continuous improvement.

  • Provide instructional design leadership, coaching, and best practices to internal trainers and stakeholders; contribute to the evolution of Galderma’s learning standards and methodologies.

  • Manage vendor partners and external resources to ensure high-quality, on-time, and cost-effective learning deliverables.

  • Research and apply emerging trends, technologies, and evidence-based learning approaches to enhance engagement and impact.

  • Ensure all training content, materials, and activities comply with Galderma’s Code of Conduct, operational standards, and regulatory requirements.

  • Perform other duties as required to meet evolving business and just-in-time learning needs.

Minimum Education, Knowledge, Skills

  • Bachelor’s Degree and (3) years instructional design experience or in lieu of a Bachelor’s Degree, High School Diploma (or equivalent) and 7 years of instructional design experience

  • Understands instructional design and adult learning principles

  • Minimum three (3) years instructional design experience

  • Understands instructional design and adult learning principles

  • Sales training and management development

  • Analytical skills, writing skills, creativity and problem-solving skills

  • Pharmaceutical industry experience preferred.

  • Instructional Design Certification is desirable but not necessary

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, influencing and negotiation skills.

  • Highly independent and innovative conceptual thinker with a strong bias for quality and action, a keen sense of urgency and timely planning and the ability to drive results in a matrix organization.

  • High level of business and financial acumen.

  • Ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced and time-sensitive environment

  • Solid comprehension of adult learning and development principles and methods, as well as social persuasion techniques

  • Demonstrated ability to operate cross-functionally and build relationships with internal and external customers
