Join us in shaping the future of science! We are seeking an experienced Infrastructure Software Engineer to join our software platform team, where you’ll collaborate with software engineers, lab scientists, and machine learning engineers to build cutting-edge infrastructure and tools that power automated scientific analysis, experiment orchestration and more. 

This role sits at the intersection of platform engineering and infrastructure development, with a strong emphasis on Kubernetes and infrastructure as code. You will help design and scale the systems that support our scientific applications, ensuring that our platform is robust, reproducible, and a joy to use. 

🛠️ What You'll Be Building 

  • Participate in the entire software development life cycle, focusing on building and maintaining Kubernetes-based infrastructure supporting scientific services and pipelines.
  • Align development with strategic goals, ensuring platform tooling supports broader organizational needs.
  • Develop platform tooling to streamline deployment, observability, and developer workflows.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure infrastructure supports fast iteration and reliable scaling.
  • Contribute to infrastructure automation – building and maintaining Terraform, Helm, Kubernetes Operators, etc.
  • Implement CI/CD best practices and advocate for DevOps culture across teams.
  • Drive performance, security, and reliability improvements throughout the stack.
  • Apply software engineering principles to platform and DevOps activities 

🧰 What You’ll Need to Succeed

  • Minimum of 4 years of experience writing software in a commercial setting in Go or Python.
  • Proficiency in Containerization, Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code tools.
  • Strong understanding of git best practices.
  • Acute listening skills and patience to deeply understand user challenges.
  • Experience implementing scalable software solutions.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and team-first mentality.  
  • Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and stakeholders.
  • Energetic self-starter and independent thinker with strong attention to detail.
  • Eager to work with highly skilled and dynamic teams in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial, and technical setting. 

✨ Bonus Points For 

  • Experience with GitOps, ArgoCD, Github Actions
  • Experience with AWS and services (EKS, RDS, S3, etc.)
  • Experience with Kubernetes Operators
  • Experience with Crossplane
