Senior Infrastructure Engineer

As a Senior Infrastructure Engineer at Coinme, you'll architect and scale the backbone of our crypto-to-cash network and partner services. This role combines deep technical contribution with strategic leadership, solving complex problems at the intersection of traditional finance and cryptocurrency. You'll drive critical initiatives including our multi-cloud infrastructure modernization, zero-downtime deployment architecture, and the security infrastructure supporting $1B+ in transactions. This role offers the impactful opportunity to shape both technology and team culture at a company processing millions of transactions while maintaining the agility to implement your architectural vision quickly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Design and implement cloud-native infrastructure supporting our platform that services 40,000+ physical locations
  • Lead infrastructure modernization initiatives on AWS using Kubernetes, Terraform, and Spacelift
  • Provide guidance to other engineers on how they can best run distributed applications in containerized environments 
  • Drive observability culture through comprehensive monitoring and alerting
  • Mentor fellow engineers, demonstrating technical expertise, and joining a small team in solving challenging programming and design problems
  • Facilitate technical decision-making processes and establish engineering best practices for the infrastructure team
  • Foster collaboration between infrastructure, platform, and application teams to optimize full-stack performance
  • Develop and execute technical roadmaps aligned with business objectives and growth projections
Qualifications
  • 7+ years of hands-on experience supporting cloud infrastructure operations in a large, complex, cloud-based environment 
  • AWS Associate Level Certification (SysOps or Solutions Architect) or experience showing a similar level of experience with business-critical systems
  • Expert-level experience operating Kubernetes at scale, including multi-cluster architectures, EKS deployments, and service mesh implementations
  • Strong production support capabilities with proven experience in troubleshooting complex Kubernetes environments and resolving critical incidents
  • Deep AWS expertise (Associate/Professional certification preferred) with hands-on experience in multi-account, multi-region architectures
  • Demonstrated understanding of the SDLC, application observability, automation tools, and DevOps processes & philosophies 
  • Demonstrated success in building infrastructure in the cloud and deploying through CI/CD pipelines, utilizing technologies such as YAML, Python and Docker 
  • Ability to define risks and analyze systems for threats and security vulnerabilities
Nice to Have
  • Experience with Crypto and blockchain products
  • Experience working in the financial services industry 
  • Track record of successful cross-functional collaboration in complex, regulated environments
  • Other technology experience which will help: EKS, Spacelift, ArgoCD / Helm, Karpenter, Cloudflare, AWS API Gateway, AWS SSM, Datadog
