Job introduction:
The EDATA (Enterprise Data & Analytics Technology) group is looking to hire 2 Senior Infrastructure Engineers with focus on BI & Reporting Platforms. Under limited supervision, these candidates can design, implement and support resilient, scalable and cost-effective infrastructure that powers mission-critical data platforms across the entire enterprise. Candidates will collaborate with developers and stakeholders on challenges and opportunities as a technical expert including coding, testing, debugging, monitoring and compliance. They will deliver new features and significant enhancements to achieve desired business results and documents processes, deliverables and outcomes.
About the job:
- Provides Infrastructure solutions, operational support and problem resolution for large, distributed systems.
- Develops effective, defect free source code that meets business requirements and team/Liberty standards.
- Develops complex test scripts. Troubleshoots hardware and software problems, takes appropriate corrective action and/or interacts with IT staff or vendors in performing complex testing, support and troubleshooting functions.
- Manages the troubleshooting and resolution of infrastructure compatibility issues based on systems architecture, project requirements and customer expectations.
- Interacts with Platform team, Product Owner and other Stakeholders to understand and define user stories at a deep technical level.
- Depicts highly complex ideas, issues and designs to varied audiences.
- Participates in infrastructure and platform set-up, user training, hardware/software installation, maintenance, support and documentation of operating runbooks.
- Plans work out appropriately, proactively escalates issues that may impact scope, schedule, budget.
- Participates in Agile Ceremonies (demos, retros).
- Mentor new developers and junior developers.
- Identify and recommend appropriate continuous improvement opportunities.
- Participates in remediation efforts during incident management events and/or provides consultative recommendations on viable resolutions
Monitors system performance, capacity and cost and reports changes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technical or business discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Minimum 5+ years of Infrastructure Engineering experience.
- Extensive experience with AWS services such as EC2, S3, RDS, Lambda, CloudFormation, and IAM.
- Experience with Ansible, Kubernetes, Terraform and/or other automation toolsets for infrastructure provisioning.
- Strong knowledge of setting up CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions or similar tools for infrastructure code.
- Familiarity with AWS networking and security.
- Experience with scripting languages (e.g., PowerShell, Python) to automate data workflows.
- Familiarity with compliance frameworks relevant to cloud infrastructure.
- Ability to lead and mentor junior engineers on cloud practices and architecture.
- Excellent communication skills to articulate technical concepts and gather requirements effectively.
- A collaborative, adaptable working style, demonstrated initiative and the ability to prioritize your time and efforts.
Preferred additional skills and/or experience:
- Experience in Power BI and/or Tableau Enterprise Tenant Administrator.
- In-depth knowledge of Power BI architecture, data models, and report/dashboard development.
- Experience in administering Power BI workspaces, managing datasets, and configuring Power BI Gateways.
- Strong understanding of data modeling concepts, DAX (Data Analysis Expressions), and Power Query for data transformation.
- Familiarity with data warehousing concepts and ETL processes related to Power BI and Tableau preferred.
- Strong analytical skills to interpret data and provide actionable insights.
- Ability to work closely with BI analysts, developers, and stakeholders to understand reporting needs.
