Root was founded on the belief that car insurance is broken, and we set out to change it. We’re harnessing the power of technology to revolutionize this archaic, complicated industry. Using machine learning and mobile telematic platforms, we’ve built one of the most innovative insurtech companies in the world.
The Opportunity
We’re hiring a Senior Human Resources Business Partner to support executive leaders and help drive strategic outcomes across the business.
This is not a traditional HRBP role focused just on day-to-day support. This role is designed for someone who can operate as a strategic partner to senior leadership—someone who can influence decisions, navigate complexity, and use data to guide direction.
You will work directly with executive leaders to translate business priorities into people strategies, provide clear and actionable insights, and help the organization scale effectively.
Salary Range: $110,000 - $147,000 (STI & LTI Eligible)
Root is a “work where it works best” company. Meaning we will support you working in whatever location that works best for you across the US. We will continue to have our headquarters in Columbus, Ohio.
How You Will Make an Impact
- Partner with senior leaders in Engineering and Product to drive strategic initiatives and organizational decisions
- Analyze data and provide clear recommendations to inform leadership decisions
- Influence stakeholders across functions to align on priorities and execution
- Manage multiple high-impact initiatives in a fast-changing environment
- Help leaders improve team effectiveness, structure, and performance
What You Will Need to Succeed
- Experience supporting senior leaders in a strategic HRBP, leadership, or consultant role
- Strong ability to influence and challenge thinking at all levels
- Proven ability to use data to tell a story and drive decisions
- Excellent prioritization and adaptability
- Comfort operating in ambiguity with shifting priorities
As part of Root's interview process, we kindly ask that all candidates be on camera for virtual interviews. This helps us create a more personal and engaging experience for both you and our interviewers. Being on camera is a standard requirement for our process and part of how we assess fit and communication style, so we do require it to move forward with any applicant's candidacy. If you have any concerns, feel free to let us know once you are contacted. We’re happy to talk it through.
Please see our Privacy Notice available HERE for more information on how we process your personal data.
Consistent with the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Civil Rights Act of 1964, it is the policy of Root to provide reasonable accommodation when requested by a qualified applicant or candidate with a disability, unless such accommodation would cause an undue hardship for Root.
