Senior HR Business Partner (HRBP), Talent Management position is responsible for working with the line managers and HRBPs to shape and drive talent objectives for the company. This position has two primary areas of responsibility: 1) Managing and coordinating organization-wide efforts to ensure that the Datto culture has a robust, ongoing, and relevant performance and talent management approach that motivates employees and supports performance within the context of our high growth culture and 2) This position also serves as the HRBP supporting the technology function throughout Datto, working with the leaders within the function to drive employee engagement, talent management and development, and employee relations. This role will be based in Boston or Norwalk and will require approximately 25% travel to other Datto locations.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Provide expertise and support in the design, development and implementation of the the performance management and talent approach at Datto to further bolster business success and build upon our strong culture. 
  • Manage the delivery of the performance management system so that it is relevant to the growing and changing needs of the business.
  • Work with the CPO to shape leadership development and workforce retention initiatives that support the development of a diverse bench of talent. 
  • Serve as a business partner with line managers in the technology function to support the hiring, development, and retention of talent with an emphasis on career development and team engagement.
  • Manages and resolves complex employee relations issues for client groups. Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Partner with HR colleagues in the Recruitment, Benefits, Compensation, and HRIS teams to support effective communication to employees and ensure that workforce requirements are being met.

The successful candidate will be highly collaborative and flexible and will have experience leading projects in a dynamic business environment. The successful candidate will assesses and anticipate HR-related needs.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Minimum of 10 years progressive HR experience.
  • Broad HR background including talent management and performance management.
  • Proven track record of managing projects that leverage the capabilities of others.
  • Ability to influence at all levels in the organization.
  • Working knowledge of multiple human resource disciplines, including compensation practices, organizational diagnosis, employee relations, diversity, performance management, and federal and state respective employment laws.
  • Experience working in a technology company, work with software engineers highly desirable. 
  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Ability to travel 25% of time, mostly domestic.
