The role

We are seeking a Senior Hardware Solutions Engineer to join a fast-paced, highly collaborative engineering team. In this role, you engage with and assist multiple teams to prototype, design, and develop appliance hardware solutions to support the delivery of Hitachi Vantara’s AI and Unstructured Data Platform. The Engineering team embraces a highly collaborative development model that requires deep development and leadership involvement from start to finish of each project.
Responsibilities:

- Design, develop, deploy, and support scalable hardware and software applications/systems
- Build and maintain products and solutions throughout its life cycle
- Be the primary driver of conception, architecture, and development of next generation hardware solutions across the portfolio
- Collaborate and work with cross-functional engineering team members to turn requirements into prototypes, technical designs, and implementation
- Monitor hardware vendor roadmaps, develop and implement plans for platform and component upgrades
- Create and contribute to internal engineering documents related to the design, test, and build of hardware solutions in the portfolio
- Collaborate and provide content for technical documentation of the hardware solutions
- Provide guidance, project management, and mentoring to other team members
- Set up hardware in the lab
Experience and Skills:

- 7+ years of hands-on contribution in hardware and software engineering or related field
- Demonstrated experience in designing solutions
- Understanding of hardware and software touchpoints (including, but not limited to: Linux operating systems, firmware, networking, drivers, etc.)
- Experience with assembly of hardware solutions
- Understanding of engineering processes
- Advanced problem-solving skills
- Ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
- Tech savvy, detail oriented, and highly driven
- Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills
- A genuine passion for engineering high-quality solutions
- Demonstrate ability to achieve results in a fast-paced environment
- Relevant formal education, including BSEE, BSCS, or MSCS
