THE ROLE

FL110 is seeking a seasoned and visionary (Senior) Hardware Engineer, to join our engineering team.

You will be designing and developing new hardware platforms that enable next-generation proteomics and will be at the forefront of our product development life cycle, from conception to deployment.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Work with a cross functional team to  design and develop instrumentation for FL110’s proteomics platform including breadboarding and prototyping.
  • Designing, creating and realizing next-generation platform for FL110’s proteomics solution.
  • Provide hardware engineering innovation throughout a product’s full development lifecycle, from early-stage research to beta testing and product release.
  • Understand and translate customer requirements to design requirements and developing a verification and validation strategy for the platform.
  • Contribute to early-stage rapid concept development, prototype and test iterations with cross-functional teams.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to ideate, develop and test system and subsystem concepts and architecture.
  • Create, maintain, and update documents for all aspects of the development process as well as contributing to generating intellectual property

PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in an Engineering or related field such as Electrical Engineering, Optical Engineering, or Bioengineering. A Ph.D. is an advantage.
  • Minimum of 2 years of industry experience in platform or prototype development
  • Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO:9001
  • Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Experience designing and developing life science instruments or microfluidic devices.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and interpersonal skills.
  • Be an independent, solution-driven mindset, adaptable to a fast-changing environment.

Nice-to-Haves

  • Experience driving technical requirements with vendors, subcontractors, and manufacturers, with excellent communication and documentation skills. (OEM/ODM/JDM/CM)
  • Familiarity with quality management systems such as ISO:9001
  • Experience with electronic or microfluidic systems
  • Experience with coding including embedded systems

The salary range for this role is $108,000 - $177,000. Compensation for the role will depend on a number of factors, including a candidate’s qualifications, skills, competencies, and experience. FL110 currently offers healthcare coverage, annual incentive program, retirement benefits and a broad range of other benefits. Compensation and benefits information is based on FL110’s good faith estimate as of the date of publication and may be modified in the future.
