Role Overview

The Senior Growth Marketing Strategistis the strategic lead across all growth marketing engagements. They architect full-funnel strategies, oversee day-to-day execution, and ensure that every growth initiative is delivered with precision, insight, and excellence. This role owns the client relationship for growth-only contracts, serving as the primary point of contact and strategic advisor. For multi-service engagements, this person partners closely with Program Management to ensure strategy, timelines, resources, and deliverables remain aligned across teams.

The Senior Growth Marketing Strategist manages the work of external consultants and internal channel specialists, oversees timelines, and ensures impeccable attention to detail in every deliverable. They act as the “growth brain” across the account—connecting Paid Media, Email, SEO, and Creative in order to drive measurable, profitable results.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead full-funnel growth strategy across acquisition, retention, and onsite optimization

  • Own strategic planning, including quarterly roadmaps, prioritization, and KPI alignment

  • Translate performance data into clear insights, recommendations, and testing plans

  • Provide client leadership as a trusted growth advisor—leading strategy discussions, QBRs, and executive readouts

  • Partner cross-functionally with Paid Media, Email/SMS, SEO, Creative, and Tech teams to ensure strategic alignment and strong execution

  • Identify and quantify growth opportunities across channels, supporting renewals and scoped expansions

  • Translate client goals into actionable, channel-level growth plans with clear KPIs.

  • Serve as the primary strategic owner and day-to-day lead for all growth marketing–only engagements.

  • Lead client calls, weekly reporting, performance reviews, and strategic workshops.

  • Collaborate with Program Management on multi-service contracts, ensuring seamless communication, aligned timelines, and integrated strategy.

  • Conduct quality assurance on all growth outputs before client delivery.

  • Partner with internal leaders to ensure smooth workflow, capacity alignment, and high-quality execution

  • Partner with data teams to maintain dashboards and reporting frameworks.

  • Present performance and strategy updates to both day-to-day and executive-level client teams.

Marketing Platforms & Tools

This role should have working familiarity with the following platforms and tools (hands-on experience preferred, but deep specialization not required):

  • eCommerce & Data

    • Shopify / Shopify Plus

    • Google Analytics (GA4)

    • Google Tag Manager (conceptual understanding)

    • Data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, or similar)

    Paid Media & Acquisition

    • Google Ads

    • Meta Ads (Facebook & Instagram)

    • TikTok Ads (preferred)

    • Attribution tools and models (platform + blended/MER-based views)

    Lifecycle & Retention

    • Klaviyo (email & SMS)

    • Basic understanding of segmentation, flows, and campaign strategy

    • Loyalty and subscription platforms (e.g., Recharge, LoyaltyLion, or similar – a plus)

    SEO & Onsite Optimization

    • SEO tools such as Ahrefs, SEMrush, or similar

    • CRO and testing tools (Hotjar, Google Optimize, VWO, or similar)

    Collaboration & Planning

    • Project management tools (Asana, Notion, ClickUp, or similar)

    • Presentation and documentation tools (Google Slides, Google Docs)

    Qualifications

    • 5–8+ years in growth marketing, lifecycle marketing, paid media strategy, or eCommerce-focused digital strategy

    • Proven experience overseeing workflows, timelines, and resources across multi-channel programs

    • Strong foundation in DTC eCommerce metrics (MER, CAC, LTV, retention rates, AOV, contribution margin, etc.)

    • Excellent communication and client-facing leadership skills

    • Experience working with or within Shopify/Shopify Plus

    • Ability to translate complex data into actionable insights and strategic direction

    • Agency environment experience strongly preferred

    • Prior experience owning each channel is strongly preferred.

    • Experience within Shopify / Shopify Plus, Google Analytics (GA4), Google Tag Manager (conceptual understanding), Data visualization tools (Looker, Tableau, or similar)
