Job DescriptionAs the Senior Global IT Sourcing Category Manager, you will serve as a strategic partner to IT, Digital, Cybersecurity, and business leaders, co-developing sourcing strategies that enable technology outcomes while optimizing total cost of ownership. This role is highly collaborative focused on building trust, aligning priorities, and influencing decisions across a global, matrixed organization.
You will work side‑by‑side with stakeholders to shape sourcing approaches that balance cost, risk, innovation, and speed, supporting both day‑to‑day operational needs and long‑term technology transformation.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate closely with IT and business stakeholders to understand technology roadmaps, architectural standards, demand drivers, and future capabilities.
- Co‑develop and execute IT category strategies covering software, SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, telecom, cybersecurity, and IT services.
- Facilitate ongoing dialogue between Procurement, IT, Finance, Legal, and Risk to ensure sourcing decisions are well aligned, transparent, and sustainable.
- Build and manage a jointly prioritized sourcing pipeline, ensuring stakeholders buy in from concept through implementation.
- Lead RFIs, RFQs, and RFPs in partnership with IT teams, aligning commercial outcomes with technical and operational requirements.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to stakeholders by providing market insights, supplier intelligence, and recommendations on sourcing and commercial models.
- Lead end‑to‑end commercial negotiations, including direct contract redlining and collaboration with Legal, Finance, and stakeholders to resolve complex terms related to pricing, risk, liability, SLAs, data privacy, and compliance.
- Manage a high volume of concurrent contracts and sourcing initiatives, maintaining momentum across multiple negotiations and ensuring timely execution without sacrificing quality or stakeholder alignment.
- Balance value delivery across cost optimization, supplier performance, innovation, flexibility, and risk mitigation.
- Support supplier relationships through collaborative governance, performance reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Promote adoption of best practice IT procurement processes while remaining flexible to evolving business and technology needs.
- Encourage knowledge sharing and continuous improvement across procurement and IT communities.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent relevant experience.
- 5+ years of experience in indirect procurement, with strong emphasis on IT sourcing and stakeholder partnership.
- Proven experience working collaboratively with IT leadership, and functional teams.
- Hands‑on experience sourcing key IT categories such as software, SaaS, cloud, infrastructure, telecom, cybersecurity, and IT services.
- Demonstrated ability to negotiate and redline complex supplier contracts, including software, SaaS, cloud, and IT services agreements.
- Strong understanding of IT commercial constructs (subscriptions, licensing, consumption-based pricing, managed services).
- Experience facilitating cross‑functional discussions and aligning diverse perspectives into shared outcomes.
- Willingness to travel domestically as needed.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated success as a trusted business partner, not just a transactional sourcing lead.
- Strong communication and facilitation skills, with the ability to influence without authority.
- Procurement Certification
- Advanced experience negotiating and redlining complex IT contracts, with the ability to manage a high volume of concurrent agreements and drive timely execution across multiple stakeholders.
- Strategic, curious, and outcome oriented, with attention to both relationships and results.
- High integrity, collaborative mindset, and strong work ethic.
- Comfortable navigating ambiguity and evolving technology landscapes.
- Quick learner with interest in emerging IT trends and sourcing models.
