What You'll Do

The Fortnite Music Team is working on everything from low-level audio systems to exciting new gameplay features and modes. Our tech is used by first and third party development teams to help make their creations more rich, immersive and fun to play. As part of this team, you will implement gameplay systems, APIs, and tools that will empower Fortnite creators to build the next generation of amazing gameplay experiences!

In this role, you will
  • Work closely with other teams to design, implement, and deliver gameplay features and ecosystem wide audio tech
  • Solve technical challenges and maintain features and systems used by both internal development teams and external partners
  • Write robust, understandable, and maintainable code and systems
  • Diagnose and fix gameplay, memory, performance, networking, UI, and scalability issues
  • Distill feature requests into meaningful, actionable work items
  • Mentor others to support their technical and professional growth
What we're looking for
  • You are self-motivated, solutions-focused, and own the outcome
  • Strong C++ skills and software engineering principles
  • 8+ years of experience, including experience with designing and implementing scalable, robust systems on AAA games or game engine technology
  • Ability to pivot to new technologies, features, and assignments as necessary to meet team and company goals
  • A keen analytical mind with strong problem-solving skills
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrated ability to communicate fluently in English (written and verbal)
  • - Experience with the Unreal Engine is a big plus

This role is open to multiple locations across the US (including NYC & WA).

The expected annual base pay range(s) for this position are detailed below. Each base pay range is relevant only for individuals who are residents of or will be expected to work within the specified locale. Compensation varies based on a variety of factors, which include (but aren’t limited to) things such as skills and competencies, qualifications, knowledge, and experience. In addition to base pay, most employees are eligible to participate in Epic’s generous benefit plans and discretionary incentive programs (subject to the terms of those plans or programs).
