• 6+ years of experience in both backend and frontend software development, with significant experience building trading platforms (DEX, CEX, HFT, or similar high-performance trading systems)

• Expert-level proficiency with React and modern frontend state management patterns; experience with the TanStack ecosystem is a strong plus

• Strong experience with high-performance data visualization and real-time UI components for building dense, data-intensive trading interfaces

• Solid backend engineering skills with Go or similar systems languages; experience building WebSocket architectures and backend-for-frontend patterns

• Deep understanding of real-time data streaming, order management systems, and trading UI/UX patterns

• Experience with component library development and working within established design systems; strong eye for design and attention to detail in high-density interfaces

• Proven consulting/contracting experience or startup/agency background with strong client management and communication skills

• Self-sufficient professional who thrives with autonomy, moves fast with lean processes, and maintains high quality standards

• Deep expertise with major cloud providers (GCP, AWS, Azure) for deploying and scaling high-performance applications

• Excellent communication skills for explaining technical tradeoffs to both technical and non-technical stakeholders

• Embed with client teams to advise and consult founders on building sophisticated trading platforms, order management systems, and real-time trading interfaces

• Architect and develop high-performance trading UIs handling real-time data updates and complex user interactions at scale

• Build and maintain backend proxy layers and APIs to support demanding trading application requirements

• Design and implement component libraries on top of internal design systems, creating reusable patterns for dense trading interfaces

• Integrate with existing APIs, data distribution layers, and trading infrastructure while maintaining low-latency performance requirements

• Uplevel client engineering teams through mentorship, improved architecture, and enhanced engineering processes

• Lead technical strategy discussions with clients, managing project timelines and expectations for complex trading platform builds

• Help grow our team's technical capabilities by experimenting with cutting-edge tools and contributing back to the open source ecosystem

The following would be bonus experience to have, though highlight any additional experience or skills you may have. We like working with people with varied backgrounds and experiences.

• Experience with blockchain protocols and web3 development (EVM, Solana, or other ecosystems)

• Background in quantitative finance, algorithmic trading, or market microstructure

• Experience with real-time communication protocols or trading-specific standards

• Familiarity with order book management, matching engines, or risk management systems

• Experience with Rust or other high-performance backend languages

• Knowledge of charting and data visualization libraries

• Experience with mobile development for trading applications

• Contributions to open source trading tools or infrastructure
