Employment Type: Contract (6 months)
Project OverviewWe’re looking for a senior frontend engineer independent contractor to partner with our engineering team. This role is designed to support two key objectives: (1) accelerate delivery of major product initiatives, and (2) provide architectural guidance and mentorship to level up our frontend capabilities. The role has strong potential to convert to a full-time position based on performance and business needs.
Project Scope and Deliverables- Partner with product and design to implement key initiatives across our platform with high-quality, maintainable code
- Evaluate and evolve our React.js architecture to ensure maintainability, performance, and scalability
- Provide mentorship and code guidance to junior and mid-level frontend engineers
- Support backend engineers working in the frontend codebase, improving structure, clarity, and documentation to enable their efficiency
- Improve styling consistency and usability using CSS and Material UI components
- Help establish and document frontend engineering best practices and design patterns
- Bonus: Contribute to backend work (Node.js) when needed to unblock or accelerate frontend progress
- 6+ years of experience building modern web applications using React.js
- Demonstrated experience designing or refactoring frontend architecture at scale
- Proficient in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, component design, and UI performance optimization
- Strong CSS skills, with hands-on experience in Material UI (MUI) or similar component libraries
- Comfortable supporting full-stack or backend-focused engineers working in frontend code
- Familiar with state management tools like Redux, or similar
- Experience with Node.js on the backend is a plus
- Excellent communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Contract Duration: 6 months

- Travel: This position may require occasional travel. The frequency and duration of travel will vary depending on business needs.
- Rate: $100-$125 per hour
